It might well get a shot in the arm with all the new/re releases, so maybe other people will take it up

None of them come up on the US store for me. Maybe at 1:00pm EST when the new releases go up? Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, for what its worth, any game can build a community if a passionate player puts in some hustle. I was able to build a local SBG community from zero players, to seven, and a whole other club is only about an hour-and-a-half drive away. :-)

LOTR SBG even more so. easy to pick up, cheap, everybody knows the setting and people always say it's the best ruleset by GW. I feel that sometimes dividing the factions into evil and good can be an incentive to build another force or just react to someone else's pre-existing army. And because everyone knows the setting they all have their favorite faction, commander or battle - same can't be said about every tabletop game.
Of course the LOTR trilogy is made of booooks instead of some one paragraph fluff item but i've never heard of anyone trying their hardest to re-enact the war of armageddon or norse invasion on pre-empire kingdoms. Then again each and every battle in LOTR is pivotal to the setting unlike in "there is only war" type setting. Just saying that people have got a passion and opinions on a complete different level when it comes to LOTR. On a side note, Tolkien's conflicting memos often spark debate too (and passionate arguments).
I'm so hyped right now.

For what its worth... he kept going in and out of stock throughout the day, yesterday, on the US store.
They may have under-estimated demand. :-p

Its worth a go for sure. The best part of LOTR is the entry cost. It doesn't take much to get into this game, a character or 2 and a box or 2 of guys and youre playing. Even then you can go with one hero and one box and you are gaming. If you are interested in goblin town which isn't a very diverse army but defiantly an effective one, the starter box is for you. It will give you a good amount of goblins with all the characters, the rule book, and all the dwarf heros from erebor. So picking up the starter+2 boxes of erebor dwarves and you now have 2 decent sized armies for less than $200. The game mechanics are very simple to learn. The rules are written so they have layers. Lots of extra rules can be left out without hurting game play to start with and simplify the game so as to making the system ultra easy without making it dumb. Once you get more accustomed to the game play you can add the extra rules which are not very difficult themselves but add tons to the game making it much more intricate. The combinations of units, abilities, heroic actions, etc can build powerful armies that are cohesive as one.

Well it definitely had shades of that.... with rolling for "first go" priority per game turn, and lean core rules. They clearly considered SBG... they just did it as a half-measure. Automatically Appended Next Post: You know... God help me, but I just realized if GW drip feeds out-of-print models back to the website every couple of weeks, I may legit end up owning every single SBG item, in due time.
I'm hooked in a way I have never been with a miniatures game system.
Also, if the Mahud on camels come back in stock, I will single handedly run them back out of stock. :-p

Yeah, the Mahud are still in production, it's the King that is OOP and goes for silly prices on Ebay... which is why I think he may well be in line for a re-release alongside the Fallen Realms book, as I can't think of any other OOP character sets from those lists... maybe Dalymir, is he still around?

I meant Harad, but you all know what I meant anyway. :-) I don't know how I missed some of those items on GW direct. Now the old dilemma... save money for returning OOP models, or buy existing items i've wanted? :-p

The Hasharin is still missing for the Haradrim.

The Mahud Raider was never OOP, unless it was dropped just recently? The one they need to get back is the Mahud King. That's one of those blisters that's selling for $80-100 on eBay.
Paradigm wrote: I can't think of any other OOP character sets from those lists... maybe Dalymir, is he still around?
Dalymire the Fleetmaster is OOP, as are the Corsair Captain and Bosun figures.
Ghaz wrote:

When they bring him back, I really hope they bring back this pose:
The other pose with the single knife is both easy to find second hand and IMO inferior looking to this pose.

I began re-purchasing and painting Minas Tirith stuff after years of being away from the hobby and I stumbled across news of the state of Middle-Earth stuff with GW. It seems I've got back in at the best time in years! Exciting indeed. Already snapped up the Gothmog re-release - all I could find on eBay was the older model which I'm not a big fan of.
Excited for what will be next.

Actually the site gets updated around 1:00pm EST, so we still have just over an hour (and sometimes its another fifteen or twenty minutes delayed) until we know for sure.
I do suspect this week or next will be the Fallen Kingdoms book, and Sarumon w/Grima. :-)
