Hey guys,
A few friends and I are starting a WoW RPG session soon (not the MMO - the tabletop DND-Style WoW RPG) and one of the problems I see us running into is being able to connect all the characters together. For a couple of us, it's really easy since I'm going to be playing an Orc Shamman and my mate is playing Tahnar - A Tauren Warrior. The problem is bringing in other characters from different races which don't technically fit into the Horde. What I mean is that we'll have at least one Blood Elf and at least one Forsaken which don't necessarily fit in automatically because they're not technically part of the Horde and we need a way to connect them without being too ridiculous.
My question to you is this: What sorts of plausible scenarios would you use to connect members of the Horde (Orcs, Tauren, Trolls) to non-Horde races such as Blood Elves and the Forsaken?
Cheers guys

This is a bit tricky as I know very little about WoW, but what about if everyone is an outcast from their normal society and bands together as a kind of Robin Hood group, hiding in the woods and mountains.

Actually Blood Elves and Forsaken are full fledged members of the Horde. Unless your campaign is set immediately after the events of WC3.

We're going with the start of Vanilla WoW, which ia a few years after. And that's where we have MMO-Logic applied because of the MMO's simplicity requirement which demands only two factions - Horde and Alliance. I was never 100% OK woth this from a lore standpoint. Hence the query.

Ah. Well the Blood Elves hate humanity because they were screwed over during WC3 so you can probably work in a "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of angle. Forsaken are allied with the Horde because, well, the Horde is nothing if not a band of misfits and the Forsaken are certainly misfits. So you can have your band accept them on those grounds.

The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend angle for the Blood Elf/Elves could work, but I'm not sure about the misfit angle for the Forsaken (I mean it could work, but I personally feel a bit iffy on that). The Enemy of my Enemy could work for the Forsaken member(s) if we set out on a particular type of quest to start off with (i.e. a quest against the Allience - Particularly the Humans of Lordaeron given what the did to the Blood Elves and Arthas' involvement in creating the Forsaken even though he's a Death Knight now), but it would get a bit old if everyone used the Enemy of my Enemy excuse haha.

This is something I might have to try and convince my mates to try, because it sounds like it could be very fun. Warcraft RPG - A-Team Style haha

Might work for non-Horde races, and definitely could work for the Forsaken if done right.
