Hi everyone,

I am a massive fan of the simplicity of Age of Sigmar and wondered if Mordhiem could be reduced down to 4 pages of additional rules to work alongside the core Age of Sigmar rules. Please see below what I have been working on - I would really like to hear your feedback on what you think works and doesn't (are the revised Battleshock rules fun or fiddly?).

There are 4 pages to the rules, the first is for skirmish gaming, the second and third detail a campaign system and the fourth outlines three basic scenarios.

Thanks for commenting!

This looks great. Thanks for posting. I'll try and get a game or two in with it to see how it plays.

Thanks! I think you will find holes in it quickly. I think the Battleshock rules are very convoluted (taking up a half page) and would really recommend a suggestion to get it to a paragraph or two.

On another forum (TGA) it was also pointed out that an Injury roll of a 2 followed by a 1-3 (-1 wound) will kill a 1 wound model and it was suggested changing his roll to -1 save instead.

Overall it is still rough and needs lots of fine tweeting but I appreciate any feedback and suggestions people have.

Battleshock does seem too complex but everything else seems solid enough.

Maybe just have a a break test after half of the models have been slain? Any model that fails runs off the board and is removed from play.

Might work better with AoS's focus on quick resolution.

This mainly. Apart from that, I'd reckon there are little problems.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

Cool, this is really useful. Maybe Battleshock is done normally as per the Age of Sigmar rules but the warband is treated as a single unit and you roll against the general's bravery. Something like:

Player adds the number of slain models that turn to a D6 roll and for however much it goes over the General's bravery score the player must remove a model from the game as if they had just been slain (however they do not roll on the injury table after battle).

That could be the jist of it, but of course, I'll write it up a bit clearer than that. Should hopefully free up space on that first page to add in extra clarifications. (I'm thinking summoning needs to be banned for simplicity).

Great stuff, will probably talk to my misses about having a go at this, but not sure how well BattleShock will work with either iterations probably need to play test high bravery side like lizardmen vs low bravery side like gobo or khorne reavers.

Hey guys, version 2 is here. There's been lots of input over at TGA COMMUNITY but I would love some feedback from you guys too (especially if anyone gets a chance to play it).

There's a reworked Battleshock that now 90% mirrors AoS Battleshock, there's a clarification on summoning, there's a slightly more advanced formula for calculating a model's cost in gold and there's a couple more tweaks.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just to quickly talk about my next steps with this, I want to tweak the 4 pages of rules further if needed. I then want to add on a supplementary sourcebook, which might have things like campaign events, magic items, playing with a GM and roster template. The source book would not be needed, so it wouldn't take away from the impact of the 4 page rule book. But it should provide some more meat for people looking for something not so streamlined.

As well as that, I plan to create a "deluxe" edition with a designed front cover, inside art and maybe some shots of my miniatures within too (arranged as sample Warbands or flavour shots).

Keep up the good work. I always thought AoS would work better as a (true) skirmish game.
