So what it says on the title, people always say that "chaos needs new models" and then get replies of "so do sisters!" Well I'm wondering who needs one more? What do you say?

I would say sisters. At least some of the Chaos line is in plastic, the ENTIRE SoB line (as far as I can tell) is still metal. While both factions need a face lift desparately, Sisters need it more.

Chaos is a flagship enemy force in the game. They have languished for years. A chaos revamp and resurgence is far more necessary than a revamp of yet another Imperial faction.

That said I would love to see the sisters become a viable option with a better codex and solid line of plastic figs finally. They are a tough sell with all metal figs and them primarily only being obtainable through GW directly these days.

I have an all metal SoB army...and I like them even though they are so outdated. Anyway, I am in the middle, because I agree that Chaos is the ultimate bad guy for 40k so should be everywhere...and aren't.

Sisters need models, but Chaos needs rules. The only Chaos models that I can't stand seeing is the Berserker with the dumb pseudo-skull mask and Abaddon. The rest look good to me or there are conversions available somewhere. Noise Marines have a 'kit' with the Kakophony if you can't stand the dumb GW proper kit and so on. Sister's don't even get those options that I know of since the base models are metal and difficult to work with.

Sisters need plastics, but Eldar also need their aspect warriors in plastic too (I collect & paint eldar, but don't play). I'd actually give first priority to Eldar Aspects, in all honesty.

Chaos. They're supposed the arch-nemesis of the Imperium so why are they routinely ignored?

There are more Chaos Players than Sisters players so I imagine that Chaos will win this poll, but Sisters need new multipart plastic models, and frankly Chaos does not.

Tzeentch does have some pretty cool stuff, though. Fateweaver, pink horrors and Thousand Sons come to mind.

Chaos is my preference because I play them. We're both up Warp Creek without a Gellar Field.

I voted sisters. Chaos needs a new codex way more than it needs models. And Sisters are the most in need of new models of anything GW produces, by a long shot. Their codex certainly could use some love too, but an all metal line is just not acceptable these days.

Chaos Marines have had dozens of new releases over the 20 years that Sisters have had no new releases.

Sisters need some love!

Chaos Marines.
The CSM are one of the central factions of 40k. They are the setting's primary antagonist. It is essential that they have a good model line.
Sisters are only a minor faction, like the AdMech or Grey Knights (which doesn't mean that they don't deserve new models, I'd just rather see them update CSM first)

I certainly didnt see any chaos space marines in silver tower.

also i dont recall there being any slannesh though i might be forgetting.

tzeench demons are in a decent place though since the easiest thing for them to represent is magic anyway

How about both with a new game like space hulk but with CSM and SOB. Call it Faith and Fear. Sisters have to hold a 'bastion' while the CSM attack it until the sisters are overran or until time/rounds expires and space marine reinforcements come. Each round or every other round CSM get more guys on the board and move towards the middle through different paths. Sisters can spend their turns fortifying paths, searching for holy relics to arm their girls with, etc.

I would absolutely ADORE this

I voted "other army" because Space Marines really need an update. The techmarine and thunderfire cannon are still failcast and need plastic models ASAP. And the bikes and dreadnought are ancient! The Land Raider and Rhino could use an update as well. Scouts too. And I believe most of our special characters aren't in plastic yet either. For shame!

Lastly, it's been, what, at least 2 or 3 weeks since Space Marines got a new unit no one's ever heard about but has been in our arsenal since the Horus Heresy. Come on GW! It's about time you show SM some love!

Actually believed you until the last two sentences.

I've been a CSM player since late RT era and even I say Sisters. CSM have had at least some updates over the years and not EVERY model on the range needs to be redone. Meanwhile, I can put together almost an entire smallish army of CSM for what the Sisters players have to pay for like ... two squads. I'm not even a huge fan of the Sisters, but if people are still playing them after all this time and punishment well, they deserve an update! IMO anyway ...

I used to be purely a CSM player and have never collected the Sisters, however the Chaos line isn't bad its just the Codex that needs an update.

The sisters however, are still rocking entirely metal lines and are very much shoved in the corner.

As you can probably tell by my user name I'm a Chaos player but I voted for Sisters.
As much as I'd love my faction to get a new range of models we haven't exactly had nothing recently, Sisters haven't had anything and there range is now in the outdated and un-user friendly metal.
And despite Chaos being the main bad guys and still very popular, I'd imagine a new multi part plastic range of sisters would bring new followers

Chaos Marines.

It's criminal how GW have left the entire game's central antagonist to rot away to the point it's now at. The only kits worth keeping are the Termie Lord/Sorc kit and the 2012 releases + Helbrute kit - everything else is garbage.

Right now the army is a clusterfethed mess of various designs, from early 90's metal-inspired, to the 2001 era 'Marines with spikes & skulls', to the newer DV era styled models.

And worst of all, outside of the Raptors/Warptalon kit, NONE of our infantry kits come with more than barely 50% of their basic upgrades!
The Terminator kit is an insult - you can't even build 5 basic grunts from it, since it only comes with 3 basic Combi-bolters + Power toys! And it comes with a single Combi-Flamer & Combi-Melta, only 2 power fists/chainfists, and is entirely missing even a single combi-plasma, power sword, lightning claws...
Oh, but we get a goofy as feth tentacle arm!
A kit desperately needs replacing when it's actually easier to build a minimum Meltacide unit by simply buying 3 Termie Lord kits instead going anywhere near the dumpster fire that's our actual terminator kit!

The basic CSM kit only comes with a Heavy bolter, is missing the second special weapon, has no combi-weapon (or power axe or power maul or lightning claw/s, etc...) for the Champion...
Not to mention that the molds are now so old, it's common to end up with miscasts & badly cast details.

The laughably comical Berserkers kit doesn't even come with enough Chainaxes to out fit more than 50% of the squad, let alone any kind of upgrades for a Champion...

Havocs, Plaguemarines, Oblits/Muties are still Failcast kits, while Noise Marines & Thousand Sons are just an upgrade kit to the basic...
Havocs are especially awful, since the only viable way to even build a squad is to either;
a) buy 4 boxes for a paltry $220!
b) buy an expensive FW kit for just the guns
c) buy a bunch of Imperial kits and kit-bash.

Cultists aren't even a kit, just a clamshell character (who can't even be a part of the squad!) and 5 different mono-pose DV models cloned 4x per box... You don't even get a single upgrade, while also having to put up with the fact that you can't even make 10x autogun + 10x pistol/ccw squads! (instead iirc, it's 8x autogun + 12x pistol/ccw)

Chosen still don't even have a kit despite waiting for 18+ years...


For the game's most iconic antagonist, that's an insult to have let the model line get to its current sorry state.

As a Chaos player I say sisters.
I'm playing Nurgle, so I stick to alternative models anyway, since I doubt, that GW will bring out every unit in 5 different fashions (undivided+4gods).

CSM has new models and rules released every year. Sisters are still using 2nd edition models, with their most recent model released in 3rd edition.

That is a pretty huge disparity.

Experiment 626, NOBODY gets all the bitz they want out of a kit. I'm not going to claim Chaos' range has more room for improvement than most, but at least most of the relevant units can be found in plastic, and most of the range is decent. Some of it is downright amazing. And, being largely plastic, even the less-inspired kits can be improved upon through posing and conversions and such.

Sisters, on the other hand, are (save for vehicles) entirely metal, with very few minis that allow any customization at all. Sisters haven't had any attention at all for, what, 10 years? They need a full update far more than Chaos does.

Sisters, but I'm as impartial as a Hereticus Inquisitorial trying to make their quota.

That said CSM really needs to be right behind the Sisters update. The old school Space Marauders look doesn't work as well along side the new models and frankly lack that sexy crisp detailing (I'm a sucker for well detailed models).

Sisters need it to make the Army viable to purchase and play, CSM need it to make the models look better. So I'd say Sisters first but then CSM the next month.

And for Throne's sake give Slaanesh some love outside of "pervy Daemon goodness". There is plenty of drugs, rock & roll and questing for ridiculous perfection (and perfect hair) for GW to take up as the focus of Slaanesh going forward.

I voted Chaos, but I wish there had been an option for both. Both lines are in dire straits and need some update love.
