With all the turmoil from the brexit this is probably a good time to buy warhammer stuff from ebay.co.uk. Have fun winning with the exchange rates!

I'd wait.
Its likely that very soon we will see Scotland, Welsh etc use the very same reasoning to leave the UK, making the pound to drop even further.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

What was the reasoning by the way?

Sounds about right. Makes me wonder what happens to Trump gets into the US. As a Canadian I would love to buy more stuff from there and could do with the dollar weakening.

As much as I love saving money, I'm not so sure I'm 'giddy' for other countries economies to start sucking for personal gain :(

I looked at XE currency converter and the pound is the same there, and I imagine webstores haven't adjusted their prices. Is EBay the only place that does the conversion for you or is it anywhere with PayPal?

I don't know what XE you're looking at, but the Pound is down more than 5% to the Euro and more than 7% to the USD compared to yesterday.

And webstores adjusting their prices isn't why currency changes affect you (at least not right away). Otherwise they'd have to change their prices hundreds of times a day. Which is absurd.

If I'm in the Eurozone and I want to buy a Revenant Titan, it costs £210. FW wants Pounds and charges me in Pounds. I, however, have Euros and pay in Euros. Yesterday I would have paid €274 for that £210 Revenant, but today I have to pay €260 for that £210 Revenant.

Sadly, the Brexit had the opposite effect here in Australia it seems.

According to a local news site, abc.net.au , the $AUD dropped and about $50b in shares was lost.

Dangit.

It doesn't make a big difference honestly. I.e. the Tesseract Vault (95 pound or 125 €) would cost me (after the postage) about the same from Wayland or from a German 20% discounter (if Wayland would charge in pounds; I don't know if they would as they also display € prices)

In any case, yes... Forgeworld purchases are a good idea right now. I'd also recommend AnvilIndustry models. They're amazing and are cheaper now due to the GBP falling versus the USD. It's not a massive difference, but it is a difference.

NOTE: There was more here, but the MOD decided to delete segments of my post without making a note that s/he had done so.

As a British man, I am of two minds reading this thread.

Firstly, I agree with those who say that Brexit was badly motivated and I feel vindicated, even though said vindication is bought at the price of our failing economy. I'm in fact quite sore over this result.

Secondly, I applaud your wholehearted dedication to 40k in that after such a tumultuous and frankly ridiculous result, your focus is rightly on buying models at cheaper prices

reds8n - yes, this isn't a political forum but sometimes people want to talk about these things with like-minded individuals who share hobbies.

Then try the OT board.

The board where non wargaming stuff -- like politics -- gets discussed.

There might even be a thread on a related topic.

I do believe that's why this board includes an "off topic" section. There's a thread (or 3) there about just this, with others who share your hobby talking about it

1 GBP = 4.6 BRL. Still helluva expensive, but it was more than 5 yesterday. Our recession doesn't help at all as well.

If the other members of the UK do really leave it, then I'd might acquire some FW stuff in the foreseeable future.

Dang it Canadian stock took a hit so my Ta'unar went up by like 5 bucks. I'm short just a tiny amount of cash. Need to get up to the bank to deposit some cash but I can't get up there right now. Like the one friggen day I can't get any of my usual rides.

If you're thinking of stocking up and taking advantage of the low pound I would do it sooner rather than later. Things will stabilise, and the Scots won't be splitting off for at least a couple of years if at all (there's zero chance of Wales splitting off)

I got it! Ta'unar on the way. It was starting to go up just as I purchased it. Not as great a discount as if I had been ready last night, but I'm okay with this price. It's still a huge discount over what I would have paid as a Canadian buyer.

Actually at the crazy price I might not buy any more FW ever again. Even though I would love to grab a Barricuda and the Railgun array for the Taunar.
