So i'm an ad mech player and after the GW faq becomes official I can't take Droppods in my army anymore. So my question becomes what it good to take in this list instead of drop pods? WAR CONVOCATION

Now I play 1850 games and I'm looking for what to take for around 290 pts that can fill the void now left by not being able to take drop pods. Anyone have any good ideas? I need somthing to claim/contest objectives late in games or deep strike with good weapons to do precision damage to dangerous threats. What's good for 290 pts?

Two Imperial Knights are great for War Convocation, maybe better than a Culexus on foot.

I can't beat certain match ups without the Culexus, without it 2+ 3++ with re-rolls are unbeatable. Gotta shut down those crazy good psychic powers.

I need something with deepstrike/outflank or infiltrate to grab objectives late in games or alpha strike something dangerous.

Maybe some more Cataphron Destroyers? 6 or more heavy Grav caanon should always be better than just 3

There already are 2 units of 3 in the list.

I'm leaning towards deep striking Tempests with melta guns at the moment, might decide to go for plasma instead after some play testing. 2 units of 5 with plasma and a blank command squad is 285 pts and they would have that objective secured.

Have you considered the cult mech 'holy requisitioner formation'?

it would let you deepstrike 2 units of breachers and a tech priest onto an objective marker (without scattering), if you gave one unit heavy arc rifles and the other torsion cannons they could destroy anything nearby in just a turn or two of shooting.

They'll do similar to your tempestus but probably better and more survivable plus it fits in with cult mech army really well.

You'd have to use the techpriest you've already got but otherwise it comes in at 300pts and you're not going to get more firepower for that cost.

Ad mech - 2000pts
Imperial Knights - 1000pts
Black Templars - 3200pts

I have but the points cost is too high it's about 400 pts I only have 290. The techpriest I already have is required for the war convo formation so I would need to purchase another one.
