I was thinking of starting a BA army and one of their most appealing formations is the Sanguine Wing. It's 20 vanguard, 10 sternguard, and a storm raven. Everything starts in reseve's and the vanguard deepstrike. The benefit is free power weapons and combis. I was thinking having this formation, mix of power weapons on everyone that can get them and all types of combis on the sternguard. The rest of the list would be a CAD with 2 priests with JP (joining the vanguard) and Dante for his warlord trait. Probably a dread in a pod, maybe a couple tacs in rhinos?
I was thinking this list was lacking anti tank, so maybe some melta in pods? Dunno guys, what do you think? Tactics to use, different units etc.

Realize that if the priests join the Vanguards, you lose your reroll on the formation. They have to deep strike on their own and try to join the vanguards.
I am fielding this list right now, and anti-tank is not a problem.
I'm using:
Priest, jump pack, veritas vitae, bolt pistol
Priest, jump pack, angel's wing, bolt pistol
CC scouts, meltabomb
CC scouts, meltabomb
CC scouts, meltabomb
CC scouts, meltabomb
Furioso, drop pod, frag cannon, magna grapple, deathwind launcher, locator beacon
Furioso, drop pod, frag cannon, magna grapple, deathwind launcher, locator beacon
ASM, drop pod, 2 X melta, combi-melta, locator beacon
Archangel sanguine wing
10X vanguard, jump pack, 5 power maul, 5 power axe, 10 X storm shields
10X vanguard, jump pack, 5 power maul, 5 power axe, 10 X storm shields
10 X Sternguard, 10 X combi-melta, power axe on sarge
Stormraven, AC, MM, sponsons, extra armor
With the new FAQs, the furiosos threaten vehicles in assault and I have a melta ASM and 10 X combi meltas on the sternguard. Oh yeah, charging scouts have 12 S5 hits and a meltabomb. That hps out most tanks.

Isnt footslogging a bad idea for the scouts? Or do your opponents ignore them until it's too late? And the storm shields are pricy. I was thinking maybe half the squad would have it, but not the whole. Have the stormsshields paid off on the vanguard?

The scouts are surprisingly mobile with move through cover. They are really just there for cheap obj sec. They can also cause enemy response to open up areas to drop pod in.
Stormshields are expensive, but I've found them invaluable. Remember, interceptor fire is taken before you can spread apart. And only one squad can (maybe) get the angel's wing guy to protect them. The shields are great for soaking ion accelerators, etc. Also, you don't have to be nearly as concerned with which guy is closer to which squad. It's not that expensive in the scheme of things, I think.

no, but it lets them pod in some tac marines with bolters and kill you anyway.

However it will pay off when you get shot by anything ap 2-3. With free weapons it lets you spend points on other stuff you would have used on weapons. Think about if you got shot with Plas without it. Martel has a point.

Because Descent of Angels only affects models in the same Detachment. Dante would be in a different from the Vanguard Veterans, therefore they would not be affected.

However it will pay off when you get shot by anything ap 2-3. With free weapons it lets you spend points on other stuff you would have used on weapons. Think about if you got shot with Plas without it. Martel has a point.
The priests also make grav a mostly losing proposition vs these guys. And Avenger gatling cannons.

And while that happens, you're safe from Warp Spiders or Dark Reapers (which I'm seeing more of in my area now...), or anything not a 6 from wraithguard.

Yeah, scatterlaser are still really bad. I didn't say it stopped everything. But spending 50 pts less on the unit doesn't matter scatterlasers still not a disaster. But it does a lot against ion accelerators, wraithcannons, grav, plasma, etc. Oh and you can beat terminators in CC as well.
