I didn't see a thread about this already and thought it might be worth starting one, see if anyone here might be interested. I'm not affiliated with this at all, I literally just found out about it in fact after watching a YouTube battle report, did a Google search, found the website, and then found the Kickstarter campaign which I noticed was currently active.

Honestly I just love this idea, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. There isn't a crap-ton of miniatures to use for Warhammer proxies or plastic/wood-cut 28mm terrain or anything like that, but it's a board game where you can customize your own giant anime robot and punch people through buildings. My interest is piqued, anyway. Looks like it comes with plastic minis and whole bunch of cards, tokens, boards and stuff, and there are stretch goals for additional robots, plastic buildings to replace the card stock the game comes with, unique art for every card, and apparently even an original sound track with themes for every robot/character and something to play in the background while playing the game, which is a pretty neat idea in my opinion.

I haven't backed yet but there's 32 days left, so plenty of time. The basic pledge is $70 and comes with the game plus all stretch goals, which I imagine is about average for a board game nowadays but it doesn't come with a ton of minis so I imagine the price might be off-putting for some people (plastic buildings would definitely make it worth it though, in my opinion). Supposed to deliver August 2017.

I'm on board for it, I think it looks amazing. They are really nailing that graphical style.

Same, and I think I heard Ash from Guerilla Miniatures Games is doing, or did, a play-through. That should help move some copies.

Monsterpocalypse with detailed robot customization?
Looks just up my alley, would back if I had money.

The Cooler (also formerly of MWG) uploaded a video to his channel of him playing the game with Ash. That's the one I linked to in my first post. I'm assuming there will be more, they said they wanted to play again with more people.

Maybe in the future there could be an expansion for this that adds kaiju.

Painted examples of the models.

Ash from Guerilla Miniature Games uploaded a video and he's apparently painted up the four robots. They don't look bad, and they're bigger than I was expecting.

TBH the gameplay videos don't look that exciting.

The robots look like a cross between transformers and gundam.

That would be the cue to purge the train with fire and the sword, John.

Really? The one between O-Gun vs Dai-Raijin looked good. A lot of movement, plenty of attacks and counter attacks, tons of dice being rolled, and it all came pretty close at the last few minutes there.

I found it interesting that slamming your opponents into buildings isn't always detrimental to them - they can have fire be put out, or make a spear out of the building's structural support!

Looks right up my alley, but a bit more fiddly than I had wanted. Saddened by the fact that not a single robot has a lion in its chest.

Love the fact that I can see where a lot of the robot design comes from stylistically.

Put it on reminder for now. We'll see how it plays out and what else comes popping up in the next month.

I too would love to see a tokusatsu inspired minis game some day. I know Ganesha Games has a ruleset for kaiju battles with a mecha expansion, but I haven't gotten around to trying it.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

...but of course!

I shall unearth my Monsterpocalypse collection the day something new gets released. Never did finish much of the ape or fish faction sadly, but we're getting way off topic now...

I WISH. To think that Privateer famously ****ed up the licensing soooo badly, that movie-rights, to a game, that never turned into anything, would completely derail a game, and stop their ability to produce content for it. :-(

I thought I was alone in this for so long

Heck, I'd be ecstatic if PP just released the stats for the missing 6th wave so I could have mechanically complete factions using proxies.

This game definitely looks informed by Monsterpocalypse, down to using the same (rather specific) term for the fire left behind a smashed building.
