So I got the book and I thought that I read online that there was an advantage to sticking with a force theme but I can't seem to find it.
In matched play if I go alliance chaos and take units from only clan pestilens is there an advantage to that over say taking units from multiple chaos forces?

I think only the more recent army books have the subfaction bonusses. Sylvaneth and the recent orc book.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

No, just the Sylvaneth battletome and most likely the Beastclaw Raiders battletome which goes on preorder next weekend.

The Bonesplittaz book does indeed have faction allegiance bonuses. I'd say that like the Sylvaneth book they are a bit better than the generic Grand Alliance ones, but obviously that comes with the downside of being restricted to one faction.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Oh ok, so new battle tomes have sub faction bonuses. I have sylvaneth but haven't looked at it yet. I'll check it out.
I wonder if they plan on releasing sub faction bonuses for the books that don't have them?

Totally forgot about the Bonesplittaz I thought he was referring to the other Orruks with a battletome, the Ironjawz .

Dunno but the bonuses might be a subtle (not so subtle) encouragement for players using classic forces to start new ones.
