Are there any ways to have mobility and allow them to shoot on the move despite being Heavy. If I recall, being embarked on a vehicle which moves, counts as moving.

- Endurance hands out relentless to the squad.
- If you're Space Marines or Orks, Cataphracti Captain or Mega Armour Big Mek both hand out Slow and Purposeful.
- Eldar DReapers are already SnP
- Marine Skyhammer formation hands out relentless the turn your heavies drop in.
- Tau Broadsides get relentless in the retaliaion cadre formation.
-Emperors Shield Infantry Platoon formation special order : Fire and Advance lets you count as stationary even if you move

That's about all that comes to mind.

It doesn't allow you to shoot on the move, but don't overlook things that bestow Scout. The pregame movement allows you adjust range and LoS after your opponent deploys. This may limit the need to move your heavies during the game, allowing full accuracy/RoF.

All agreed, a few more addition in the ideas,

- Tau Broadside can ride on a Tidewall Defense Line, moving the defense platform and the unit on top do not count as moved.
- For Space Marines, they have one of the best HS unit in the Imperium namely Centurion Devastator (with Grav Cannon of course), just toss some psychic power to move them faster and bear them out of tight situation and they WILL do awesome.
- If you play Necrons, don't worry, every heavy weapon wielding unit in their army are relentless gaining from their unit type (vehicle, MC or Jetpack), and some of them are very very mobile.

Another thing people sometimes overlook is giving Infiltrate to Heavy Weapon squads.

It's like Scout but better. However VERY few heavy weapon squads can get this (usually through a Warlord Trait or some such).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

The reason I ask is this: In the new Age of Darkness book (Horus Heresy), legions can take Stormlords as a Lord of War choice. I was trying to find ways of loading it with heavy support squads (lascannon or plasma cannon) and allowing them to shoot while the Stormlord moved down the table.

Unless the HH books returned the "stable firing platform"; you still count as moving while a superheavy transport moves.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Basically no can do, other then the Librarian. FW were careful to get rid of shenanigans that allowed moving and shooting.
Sorry.
