Feminism is a field that has spent a fair bit of itself on the study of gender roles and how they victimize people, not just women but men as well. Entire books have been written about the negative repercussions of "machosim" on men. Other fields write about this as well, particularly psychologists and sociologists (kind of shocking how much is written about the subject specifically in regard to Mexican cultural norms actually). So yeah. They "goto" victimhood because the study of social victimization via gender norms is kind of what they do.

On the other hand, in another stellar display of actual irony, you continue to treat victimhood as though it were a race to see who can be the most victimized, all while completely missing the point of every response posted to you trying to explain otherwise.

I once asked my mom about that actually and she said something along the lines of "I don't really feel like Feminists are fighting for me." A fair assessment I think. It's hard to tell exactly what modern Feminism wants. It's still generally able to function on a material level pointing out inequities, and a cultural level by pointing our social stigmas, but exactly how to fix any of those things is kind of a cluster feth that runs into all the things that now divide the movement.

And of course, here we are, once again facing the irony of defense of MRM falling into stereotypes about feminism, which would seem to have been Polonius' entire point that just flew right past you obtusely expressing your righteous indignation.

Tim Kaine is a known commodity to Virginians and perhaps bordering states. He was a fairly popular governor of Virginia and is an active US Senator representing Virginia.

I honestly was only marginally aware of Pence as a vocal homophobe before he was selected as Trump's VP.

I like Caine (or Kaine or Cain or KAIN!!! whatever his name is) best of all the candidates running. Pence feels like another politician.

I had never heard of Kaine.

Pence of course is notorious as one of the leaders of the deeply ridiculous Bathroom Crusaders Alliance. (I may have made part of that fact up)

I hope Kaine is able to take Pence to task on his various odious actions as Governor of Indiana.

Tonight's debate probably won't be about either Kaine or Pence, but rather a proxy-debate about Trump and Clinton.

Pence's job is to paint Clinton as untrustowrthy (i.e. emails and Benghazi). Kaine's job is too paint Trump as erratic and try to tie all Republicans running for office to the Trump train. As I see it anyways.

I imagine they will both end up defending their Presidential running mates, and just look awful doing so.

I'd really like to see Pence blow through the wall in a diesel twin cab double dooley wearing Creed's Uncle Sam jacket from Rocky IV. Now that would be enjoyable. Am I not entertained!

Pence seems like such a generic 3d printed candidate, it will at least be interesting to see if he has any depth beyond the kind of shoulder-shrugging, smiling act he's been doing thus far.

I'm sure he has his own Presidential ambitions (why else would he have taken the running mate job?) so we'll see what kind of impression he tries to make for himself.

I am walking the mountain dog, doing skills and drills and drinking midpriced rum hoping something is good on IFC.

I think I'm pretty interested in politics but there is no way I am watching a VP debate.

I plan to have it on in the background while I read. I'll post if anything interesting happens (I doubt it, but hey, why not).

They should really jazz it up. Making it a wrestling match or something. Not like WWE wrestling, but the sport. Or give them a choice in how they want to compete against each other.

Because right now, it seems like people don't give a crap about what they have to say at all.

I'll be watching between innings, Os have their wildcard game tonight concurrent to the debate.

Pretty much.

His first national exposure came when he delivered the Democratic response to the 2006 State of the Union address. He was also praised nationally for his quick response to the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007. Of course, he was also DNC chairman from 2009 until 2011 because the President requested he do it.

Meh, I'll be playing some more Fallout 4 rather than watch the debate. I think Kaine will get an easier time of it than Pence, as Pence may be stuck playing the current GOP game of "Trump's our nominee, we'll vote for him, we'll sort of endorse him, but we're also gonna stand waaaaay over here on the other side of the room every time he talks because we don't want to be seen with him".
