His abortion and sex ed policies alone gets a "Hell No" from me.

Abortion and sex education policy
Pence is an opponent of abortion, and his unwavering support of abortion restrictions has gained him the support of grassroots conservative activists.[141] Pence began seeking to defund Planned Parenthood in 2007,[142] and in three congressional sessions introduced legislation to block organizations that provide abortion services from receiving any Title X funding, even for services not related to reproductive health or family planning.[143]

Pence has criticized comprehensive sex education. In 2002, Pence criticized a speech by then-Secretary of State Colin Powell where Powell stated that it was "important for young people... to protect themselves from the possibility of acquiring any sexually transmitted disease" through the use of condoms.[144][145] Pence called Powell's comments a "sad day" and expressed his support for abstinence education.[144][145] Pence asserted that "condoms are a very, very poor protection against sexually transmitted diseases" and that Powell was "maybe inadvertently misleading millions of young people and endangering lives".[144][145]

Not to mention he funds gay conversion therapy which results in a high suicide rate amongst gay teens.

No, it's not surprising, but it's always saddening.

Machiavelli was spot on with his observation about the three stages of democracy: stagnation, tyranny, revolution. And then it repeats itself.... I suppose we're in the stagnation cycle....

Insulting? No.
One can see some parallels.
Here the Brexiteers and Trump voters, people with lower income or unemployed.

Why is politics different from every other profession? We want the best, most experienced, skilled professionals in every field. All of a sudden, HRC's experience and political acumen (and she undeniably has plenty of both) is a reason some people want to vote for a demonstrably unfit candidate because "he's not a politician"

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

There is a bit more to it than she 'did something dumb with her emails'. You may think she will be a great POTUS, or at least a better POTUS than Trump, but at least be honest with yourself. The email issue, or more accurately setting up and using a private server for Gov't business in an attempt to avoid FOIA, is bad, especially when the issue of classified getting out is taken into account. But the Clinton Foundation scandal which seems to be the focus of the current FBI investigation is NOT about 'emails' except in that the emails provide evidence. When you add in the content of the Podesta emails which show collusion between her campaign and the press, as well as other shady dealings, you get a pretty good indication there is more than 'something dumb with her emails' going on.

I'm not defending what she did or trying to minimize it; I'm pointing out the insane hypocrisy of painting a misogynist, racist, bullying, snake oil salesman's con job of an election campaign as 'honest', or just brushing him off as a harmless idiot who won't do any real damage.

For the record, I didn't vote for Clinton in the primary, and I don't know what I'd be doing with my vote if her opponent wasn't Donald Trump. This was the Republicans' election to lose; if Clinton wins, despite her actual flaws (and the dozens of hysterical conspiracy theories and innuendos that accompany them), it's going to be because of the right.

I've seen a report about the citizens of New Liverpool in Ohio. More unemployed than employed. Their hope seems to be Trump. Very frustrating report.

And hates LGBT people in general: http://time.com/4406337/mike-pence-gay-rights-lgbt-religious-freedom/ Pence seems to be the republican party's attempt to reassure the religious right that their hate and bigotry will be well-represented in our government, and that Trump won't be too busy being a racist against Muslims and "Mexicans" to take care of this vital issue. This is a problem that seems to get forgotten every time people say "Trump will just get impeached and then Pence gets to run things".

 Frazzled wrote:
Does he believe in late term abortion?

This is a non-issue. Virtually all late term abortions are done because something has gone badly wrong and the fetus is going to die no matter what anyone does. The choice is between abortion and the mother having to carry their doomed child, knowing the entire time that death is inevitable and there is nothing they can do about it, until it is born and dies painfully within a few hours at best. Nobody is (legally) getting abortions because they decided at the last minute that they don't want a kid anymore.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

All the people that were butthurt over allegations that the IRS was investigating conservative groups seem to now be absent when the Trump camp admits the FBI is leaking information to them to use in their campaign, which actually sounds like a pretty textbook Hatch Act violation to me.

For you it is. Others it isn't. You're not the judge of what are issues thank you very much. The voters will decide what is an issue and what isn't.
