Much too early. Most states and networks have prohibitions on reporting results while the polls are still open to prevent people from deciding not to show up.

It's probably still too early. Politico's countdown clock to the first poll closings say there are 6 hours and 20 minutes left until the first polls close.

As a side note, for people who like to watch returns online instead of on a TV, in my experience Fox News's website has the best interface and the freshest updates for at least 3 elections running. YMMV.

No, I mean, I use the site as well. I never watch returns on TV, I'm almost always at work. Every election I check all the big sites and we'll see what it's like this year, but in my experience, Fox News almost always has the best interface. I'm mentioning it because I know a fair number of people probably would not go there normally but it's worth checking out anyway.

Found this as I was reading a random article about voting in Texas;
http://www.twc.state.tx.us/news/efte/voting_time_off.html
TLDR
Employees are entitled to 2 hours paid time off to vote if they do not have 2 consecutive hours off outside of their scheduled work hours to vote. There is some other interesting voter protections enumerated in the code including participation in political conventions is considered job-protected leave.

I found this on Politico.
The first results from the Morning Consult/POLITICO Exit Poll of early and Election-Day voters also show few voters are feeling joy and pride at the climax of the campaign.
Pretty much in line with my personal feelings. It also says a lot about the designs of our political parties and the interests of the common people.

I think the lack of signs show that most people don't have much hope for this election, it's truly a lesser of two evils election rather than something we are proud of. People probably don't want their houses egged for showing support for either candidate.

Of course they do.
But it is lazy to dismiss something out of hand without any attempt to refute it. Bias does not automatically mean some argument or claim is automatically false.
I don't want to hear your partisan hate boner for anything and everything that the other side says or how much you distrust and loathe the sources they cite, I want to know if a specific claim or argument is true or false. Is that too much to ask?
You're damned right sources matter and when I see the FBI, who've more intimately than anyone else, looked at this email carnival ride up, down and sideways and concluded, once again, as they did, then I'm done validating this matter with the constant barrage of self-servicing attempts to grab another headline or 15 minutes of my attention. I have a hate boner, but it's for the partisan politicians, partisan reporters and their partisan rags constantly beating dead horses and scandal mongering for the sole purpose of distracting people. This email matter has been given more coverage than Watergate and that is the real crime in this matter!
You're still whingeing about how how awful the other side is instead of answering my original question.
I'll. Go. Real. Slow. This. Time. Your question has been repeatedly asked and it's validity and relevance has been answered, twice now, by the FBI. Is it really that hard for you to accept you're holding on to the losing side of this "scandal"?

What do you think the aftermaths will be for the Republican Party, if TRUMP somehow loses this election ? I can't see this being good for the Republicans.
Do you think TRUMP could try to found his own party ? Thus "stealing" some Republicans ?

Trump losing wouldn't be bad for Republicans as Trump's policy positions really don't align with traditional Republican positions and a President Trump would exacerbate some interparty fractures over policy positions. There would be no sense in Trump trying to start his own party from scratch as he would struggle mightily to get ballot access in enough states to be relevant.

I think he'll throw a hissy fit, quit politics after weeks of thin-skinned outrage, and move on to his TV network. It's liable to siphon off more Fox viewers than it is Republican party members.
I do, however, think that this election cycle is going to cause a lot of soul-searching among the GOP - as it should. They can use a good strong wake-up call. Maybe someone can lead them back from Crazyland, but only if they take the right lessons from this.

NC has had a big early voting turnout already, with Dems leading Repubs but the gap is smaller than the Dems lead in early voting in 2012 when Romney beat Obama here handily. There's been a lot of backlash against our incredibly stupid HB2 legislation but there isn't much to be done about on the ballot because even replacing the governor won't get rid of the law and it's unlikely that we unseat the Republican majority in the state house.

They won't. There is basically no-one in the party who can lead them out or interpret the cause of their trajectory straight into the u-bend. There certainly wasn't anybody running in their primary who could, and they should be the cream of the party.
They're just gonna go back to their pre-trump positioms and double down in the hopes that it'll be different next time.

Just got back from voting. All blue in federal elections (pres, house, senate), but I mixed it up a bit in to local ones depending on what I knew. I did find it entertain that for our judges you had to pick two, and there were only two options.
Pretty busy, but I got through it quickly. They use those cards that you fill out that are then scanned. Just had to sign my name and that was it.

I think Cruz is already farther to the right than Trump. There really isn't a history of Trump taking far right or even conservative positions on issues publicly, he's about as "Republican" as Bloomberg was or Christie is and that really doesn't play that well in historically red states. Trump got a crazy amount of media coverage in the primaries and by far has the most, I dunno if you could call it "charisma" but her certainly has stage presence, and that's going to play better than conservative policy positions from boring candidates.
If Trump loses then the GOP leadership is probably going to blame it on having a candidate with the highest unfavorable rating ever. That's a rather large albatross around Trump's neck.

Yeah, but then I'd have to watch Fox News. Besides, I intend on spending the evening with the TV off and logged out of Dakka, some fine Bourbon, a Cuban cigar left over from a recent trip to Montreal and I'll look at the results in the early morning when it's over. Besides it's a beautiful fall day, the trees have turned and I'm very glad this nonsense is just about over.
Just got back from voting. Only 2 people in front of me... , so it was in and out in about 8 minutes.
