I actually like all the ideas that were presented.
I think we should discuss it...

Maybe thats the point of them doing it like that is to start a buzz.
From the Rumors section a list if the topics
https://docs.google.com/document/d/10OqRENM38BfQcBn_IqaonX0fW5M60-hqOXEJvs6yTvE/edit

So I'll start with

Infinity Dungeon Crawl

How awesome would that be...

Infinity Crawler
a mix of "heroes" from all the factions fighting hordes of (I would think) Combined.
The Shasvastii would make a great "Dungeon" force. My reason.
All the fluff of popping outta no where, seeds.... You could have scenes like out of an Aliens movie with tons of podlings. They just, as a Race have "That" look. Sneaky, Dark, pop out of nowhere... Perfect for a Crawl.

Remote racing game
That sounds like alot of fun and a good reason to Go Ham on some sweet remotes outside your normal force.

Infinity Deathmatch
If this is 6 player Vs., Call of Duty style... I'm in like Flynn. THAT sounds like fun.

Dogbowl
For so many reasons.... No.... But maybe someone can chime in. But I think out of all the ideas this one is weakest.

Aristeia!
2 player Melee Gladiators in the Infinity universe.... Yes please.

New Fantasy Game
I'm scared. What if it hurts Corvus as a Whole?
What could they bring thats fresh. The worst thing would be a Cliche fantasy.

Please anyone chime in... I'm sure this is why they added market reasearch during the Seminar.

Dungeon crawl? I never played even heroquest and D&D puts me to sleep. Though I have spacehulk (v1, V2) I've not played them in over a decade.

Remote racing game? Only if you can do it for real with REAL physical remotes that you have to operate (oh, they already do it with quadcopters). I'd rather play robo rally, tbh and I hate boardgames.

Deathmatch? I don't even do computer CoD. Pass.

Dogbowl? Is this intended to be something like 'Murcan futbol crossed with full contact bloodsport? Pass.

Aristeia - with the lethality of combat in the infinity universe, I doubt it would make for long or tactically in-depth games. Pass.

New Fantasy game: This one holds promise. The Spaniards have shown they posses a less "Tolkien-centric" view when it comes to fantasy games I've seen from them before. This can only be a good thing. Just don't involve the French.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I wonder what their approach to the genre would be.
Would it be like infinity with small warbands clashing akin to Mordheim... If thats the case it might be really cool.

If you search for Warcrow on google images and you can see a bunch of CB's old fantasy line.

They'll get the most mileage out of expanding the core game, and developing an RPG. I'd like to see rules for 3 player games.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

I'd be down for this. Something akin to like Descent or Mice & Mystics? Maybe w/ variants for a single 1-hour game or long campaigns.

This...this is what would get me excited. And agree w/ both of you 100%, it'd have to be a setting that breaks the fantasy status quo. Something akin to Norsgard (Orcs are Paladins, all undead are elves and vice versa, humans are evil) or Dragon Age (magic is outlawed, Elves are the at the bottom of the totem pole, Dwarf culture is even more isolated than other fantasy settings, etc).

I've been toying around w/ the idea of creating a fantasy world where high magic elves and Falcon/Hawk avian races are the 2 good races while the 2 human factions are both evil - one that is undead based and the other that is demonic based, and they're at their own dispute over the best route for people in the afterlife - undeath or hell. All while a horde of goblins w/ giants are constantly a threat to everyone. And up above in the sky are the Dwarfs, living in their floating metropolis, indifferent to the problems on the surface. I'll sell it to you, CB!

A bit generic, but it is quite hard to break the status quo and cliches. Many kudos to those who can. Generic fantasy can always have great story variants (see WHFB, Runebound universe, Warhammer, etc), but it really is hard to think of a setting that breaks the expected race or flavor dynamics. Honestly, even something as small as Dragon Age's Paladins and magic politics is something really refreshing and original, imo.

currently playing: ASoIaF | Warhammer 40k: Kill Team

other favorites:

And I really hope they Reinvent...

I just searched it out... Oohh...

My fondest hope is infinity type factions without the historical characters refs in some totally alt world...
Something Monkey king, Jrpg-ish, alt world...something Not Tolkenesque If it was made like infinity with small warbands. A Mordheim feel, I'm in.

To Speak on an Infinity Crawl....
Shasvastii... They get no love but I'm dying to see them Revamped. The idea of how they plant seeds... It could be this really cool secretly seeded area the end up completely overrun and O-12 Sends in a crack team to eliminate the threat quietly. Impersonators, spawning seeds, Cadmus and Aswuangs creeping, a Sphinx and Character as Bosses... All in a box like Ice Storm. Sold

Guys, it is a company of manga and anime geeks. If they can only think of the classic western fantasy concept they failed as Manga/Anime fans.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Beyond the Beltway

Spaniards have their own rich history, myth and folklore to draw from. They have no need to borrow from Tolkien's "adaptations" of Germanic (including Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian) folklore and myth. And I hope that they, CB, don't. If they do borrow from Germanic, or Celtic, folklore, I hope they take it straight, and not via the good professor. I've always preferred such books as Poul Anderson's "The Broken Sword" or "Three Hearts and Three Lions" over Tolkien's stuff.

But first, CB needs to finish Infinity. By that I mean publishing the final book in which they:
>Complete the sectorials
>update and revise the Spec Op rules.
>Update and revise the Campaign rules.
All without adding too much more bloat.

Then they can take their time-- and they will, finishing up the miniatures line. Meanwhile they could be working on the fantasy game, and slowly releasing minis for it.

And a bit OT, but consider the Spanish RPG Aquelarre. Wow. Not at all like what one finds in the Tolkien-tainted Anglo-Saxon Sphere. However, I'm the only one in my group that understands Spanish, so I'll have to wait until the English language version releases, before trying to get them to consider it. Supposedly, it releases at the end of this year.

Ah, yes and no?

YES - involve the French scultors who made up many of the Rackham Confrontation line, please!

And maybe Confrontation 2.0 rules, or was that 2.5? Just pay attention to balance!!!

But nothing after that...

I'm guessing this will be a skirmish Infinity level type of game?

NO - don't hire any of the 'business' side of Rackham.

At all.

Confrontation was great in its take on Fantasy.
Each faction even the Lions (my least favorite) were pretty cool. If they can capture that type of feeling in the design with a sweet Anime feel.
Yup!

Infinity in 15mm wargame was added to the list during interplanatario.

I think that would be great. Run lots of TAGs, Bagh Mari in 15mm on 30mm along side Cutters. So cool.

So whats everyones thoughts on the topic.

What would you expect 15mm Infinity to be like?

These are the 4 new things they added to the list at Interpalnatario.

1) 15mm infinity wars game
2) Archeon Blockade space game
3) combining the base game and the above 2 to make a super campaign system that has multiple scales.
4) Card game

The card game had the smallest reaction with 15, out of this list, having the best.

They've been tossing around the idea for a 15mm Infinity for a few years now. I'm all for it. The conflict in the fluff is slowly ramping up to include army sized conflicts between humans, Combined and Tohaa, and a 15mm game lets them do that without trying to shoehorn it in with their Infinity range.

Larger round bases of 5 infantry to represent 'fire teams', individual models for solo operators that still make sense at that scale, pairs of smaller TAGs on bases or individual large TAGs and start including heavier vehicles like drop ships and tanks.

Do standard human, Combined Army and Tohaa ranges initially, then 'sectorials' for the different human factions (but no deeper into Infinity sectorials, leave that for the smaller scale of Infinity), Morats, Shasvastii, EI, some different Tohaa variants.

I'd buy and play the gak out of it.

Honestly I'd hope to see the main factions as individual forces.
But I agree with everything elsen
Fireteam bases would be really cool, things like Geckos Duo on a base. Even if its not huge war but the equivalent of 2000/3000 pts of stuff... I could really see this going full campaign, fight the big battle in 15mm then a game of infinity dor the close in action.

I think above all the other idea they presented 15mm would get my attention the most

15mm Infinity would be awesome. My preference though would be for something a bit more simplified in terms of rules. As it is, 28mm Infinity has a fair bit of crunchiness to it. I'd like to see something a bit trimmed down from that. I'd also love to see a heavier focus on TAG and mechanized combat. This would also give them the opportunity to finally show off some of the aerial and bird-form TAGs mentioned in the fluff.

Something like Dropzone Commander without the dropships would be great with how Infantry work. Infantry can get about, but need AFVs to do so with any efficiency. Use something like AVA so people just don't leave them at home in preference for TAGs and other vehicles.

Now I'm sad because I know it's not likely

I think they could cover lots of rules. MSV, Holos, Camo, but it just needs to be thinned out. What is the units main purpose on the table?

As far as large numbers of TAGs oh yes please. Like a real TAG squadron, that would be so cool. Micro Art city table but 4x4 would seem so huge.

Campaigns in 15mm with the Infinity setting but huge battles with TAGs block to block action... And Not WWII setting or some Goofy Sci Fi. Yeah that sounds good.

Coolest thing I've seen in 15mm is White Dragons stuff
Honestly they lucked out getting the Fiddler in their range. I'm picking one up next month. Its cutting into my PanO purchase...

I've been looking at games like flames of war and stuff too but I don't like the setting... And after seeing the White Dragon stuff I decided to play something in 15mm i was think of buying a bunch of stuff from them and Playing with the Fubar System.

So Corvus doing 15mm would be the best fix

The only barrier to them doing a 15mm game IMO is terrain. Plenty of gaming venues have 28mm terrain since most mini games fall in this range, but other than DZ Commander I'm not aware of any 15mm sci fi game that's currently supported and popular enough that gaming stores will have terrain for it.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

There's tons of terrain on the internet in that scale. it's this same scale is Heavy Gear it's really close to HO scale and I'm sure turning all of Mico arts stuff into 15mm would be easy. Look at what they did with the boxes that come in their starter sets. it would be easy and I'm sure they would cover it...

There's a lot of terrain in 15mm online. Gamecraft alone produces enough terrain you could construct an entire city. Brigade models makes a good variety of resin buildings and Alternative Armies through their Ion Age line has some pretty nice space colony buildings. There's lots of other manufacturers that make terrain out there. I think you might actually have an easier time finding 15mm terrain than you would 28mm.
