I'm thinking of picking up the new DW box for the DW, but it of course comes with the eldar. The only alliance of BB I have with them is DE, so I'm determined to make them work.

My usual DE list is 2 SC formations, Archons are usually Webway, blaster, and agoniser/husk blade if I don't take webway or blaster. Bikes have cluster caltrops and blaster, kabalites have a dark lance and blaster, their raider has splinter racks and a dark lance as well as enhanced sails.

There is a third raider with 9 wyches and a succubus, my first plan was to shelf the wyches in place for the troupers. They're expensive, but I think they could do lots of damage jinking their way to the enemy. I don't really know what I'd do with the bikes or starweaver though.

Suggestions? Thanks for the help in advance.

You can make a freakshow list, which is pretty strong. Lots of LD stuff between the two.

A really good formation is the Hero's Path, which is a Death Jester, a Solitaire, and a Shadowseer, all have to run solo, and they get stealth and shrouded. It gives you the ability to mess with the enemies, as Death is Not Enough stacked with any LD modifiers (Armor of Misery, Mask of Secrets, the Covens thing) lets you reposition enemy units, and the solitaire can out assault most units.

The issue with that that is that it doesn't use any of the deathwatch box models.

Tuning a troupe in a raider is a far more effective assault unit that wyches, so you're on the money with that idea. I haven't gotten the deathwatch set myself, but does the starweaver come with the option to be assembled as a voidweaver?? If so, you can run all the models as a jest formation, and embark the 10 man troupe on a raider.

The skyweavers jetbikes are also a devastating assault unit against heavy infintary, I would recommend upping their unit size to 3, or 5 and give them zephyr glaives.

That should be the most effective use of the harlequin models you get out of that set.

10,000+pts Dark Eldar
4,00pts Necron
5,000pts Eldar
Other Imperium : I stopped counting around 20,000pts

I would pair a DE Start Collecting! formation (beefed up of course, upgrading the kabalites to trueborn with blasters, upping the reavers to 6 with 2 clusters, giving everyone venoms and putting the Harlequins in the raider with the Archon to tank with a Shadowfield) with a Cegorach's Jest formation, if I were starting a list up. Then I would add a Hero's path to beef the points up even further and get a bit more board control in there.

Harlies in a Raider is a strategy with a very limited shelf life; the draft FAQs make it illegal.

Clarification: the draft FAQs make starting in the Raider illegal (so no WWP dropping in the Raider), but the Harlies are still allowed to deploy NEXT to a Radier and embark into it on turn 1.

I find that my troupes are on average safer when they start out of LOS next to the raider than they are starting in the raider. I even sometimes get people overextending just to try and get some 2++ rolls out of my archon. The only situation where I begrudgingly reserve the troupe is if the opponent has something like a thunderfire or wyvern and I don't get turn 1 and I don't get Hero's Call warlord trait (which I always roll for).

Starting outside a vehicle and then embarking seems... problematic and inadvisable.
