So yeah. The first member of my Kill Team is an Ork. He is to be played as a Terminator with Assault Cannon and Chainfist.
Fluff:
Pics:
How it works: Dakka McBugsmasha is wearing a purple hat. This makes him an infiltration expert. There is no step 2. "But, statlines?" I hear you ask! He gains BS4 in the Terminator statline by firing so many bullets it becomes rather difficult to miss.
Would you be happy to let me use him as a DW Terminator?

I plan on building an Orky Drop Pod and a squad of "Deffwotch" boyz with Frag Kannons and Spesshul Shootas (Shotguns). These boyz will have the thinnest of disguises with the TF2 Spy like cardboard masks and looted space marine shoulders and armor plates.

I don't see the problem.
You are using the games workshop sanctioned terminator model with an assault cannon and chainfist. If you are self concious about his hat I wouldn't be too worried, at least he is a human of the imperium: I once met someone who tried to bring a Xenos into the deathwatch. A XENOS!
Haha, aah well... Carry on imperial citizen.

Seriously great Bio though, as long as he's pointed out and explained before the match I'd have no problem having you field him as a DW termie. Very clever.

If he was modeled to look like he was trying to blend in he'd be an opportunity to make a fun conversion and have it not look like you just took a model from one army and plugged it into another. Something more like this:

Sure.
I mean, GW says we can accept any official lore that we want as canon, so in my version of 40k lore the Ultramarines had a half-Eldar Librarian at one time.
Why not a Deathwatch Marine that looks and dresses like an Ork?
Seems silly enough for grimdark.
I'd like to suggest, if I may, that you include some lore for him where he had to work out a system of identifying himself to his squadmates because they keep mistaking him for an Ork and trying to kill him.

Not sure how you hold an ork model and be serious at the same time. The conversion model is awesome though - how do you make that?

As someone who alters about 90% of his models, I'd have no issue with this from a game-play "let's roll some dice" perspective.
But why have just 1 Ork in a squad of Deathwatch? It makes no sense. It'd be like a squad of Grey Knights with 1 Plaqubearer as part of the unit.
What you should do is model a whole unit of Deathwatch as a mix of Xenos.
Ork Termie, check
Eldar jump packer, check
Tau heavy weapon dude, check
Literally no limits, Dude.

I think you're missing out on the purple paint on the ork, it's a joke rather than him trying to create the super-friends division.

Got into a lively discussion in one thread just on CSM models using a loyalist codex to play.
I would prefer you make an entire army of Orks wanting to be marines.
They should use Black Templar rules and have Grots for newbies... very serious grots.
There are many stories of the "Blood Axes" copying the Imperium so this would be the next logical step.
I suspect they may "appreciate" Khorne Berserkers more to emulate... what is an Ork to do?
An Ogryn joining Deathwatch hits my funny-bone more.
It would make people pause, think, pause again... it would be amusing.
Carrying the heavy weapon would make him feel right at home.
The Ork would get more of an "Oh please!" response.
Funny all the same,

Most anti xeno faction of the Imperium with an Ork? This should be somewhat like the female space marine question where no one cares what you do with your own stuff but lorewise people will be pretty annoyed.

My inquisitorial retinal has a skaven a kroot and a Tau in it. Working on a bat type alien also. Ordo xenos inquisitor Elliot Roth sees the grander scope and will fight alongside any willing to stand against tyrnids

I'd say if it could be justified in any army, it'd be the Deathwatch. I could see some Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Lord finding an Ork spore and bringing it to her lab to study its development. Then, when it's full grown and needs to imprint on and be part of some sort of society, said Inquisitor Lord foists her foster child ork off on a Deathwatch Kill Team with strict instructions to treat it like one of their own, as an experiment to see if Orks' natural aggression can be channeled in ways beneficial to the Imperium.
Or, a young ork gets separated from his mob in some multi-faction fracas. He sees a Deathwatch Kill Team really kicking ass, admires it, and wants to be just like them. He stumps up to an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Lord after the battle and asks to join. See above as to the Inquisitor Lord's motivations for sticking her Kill Team with this Ork. They have him wear the purple hat to be easily distinguishable from any other orks they may happen to be fighting.
So yeah, I could live with it, but I'd like it better with a conversion like Brother SRM's.
Y'know, it wouldn't be that hard to stick a plastic Ork head on a plastic Terminator body. Just sayin'.
