Topic sort of says it all. If I wanted to build a renegade IK with the Avenger Gatling arms on both sides... is that an option? I almost expect it to only come with one, but would rather find out before I go bits-shopping. Also, I assume the bits are side-agnostic, so I wouldn't need to convert anything to fit them to both sides? Thanks!

Unfortunately no. You would have to buy 2 seperate kits or ask someone who hasn't used it for theirs. And even if you do build it like that, using it in game would require asking your opponent.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

I believe Renegade Knights actually legally have the option of dual Gatlings, whilst Loyalist ones do not (please correct me if I'm wrong, but it caused some excitement when the boxed set came out).

I'll give it a quick look.

EDIT: It turns out you can give a Renegade Knight 2 Avenger Gatling Cannons, and it will set you back 435 points.

Yep. Those 24 rending shots seem very, very tempting. :-p

Thanks guys. I'll probably just go bits shopping. Does the "upgrade sprue" come with the entire Avenger assembly?

I've heard traitors hate will have several differant sheets for rengade knights so, the days of the dueling gataling cannon renegade may be coming to an end.

If you wanna convert up chaos ones, you can take a battle cannon arm and stick a Hades Autocannon from the Forge Fiend on it. Looks suitably chaotic and cheap conversion too!

But like Davion said, I would wait till Traitor's Hate comes out before doing this, cuz it sounds like they're going to axe the "Build-a-knight" datasheet from Renegade.

well it sounds like they are just splitting up the build-a-knight into it the regular variants like normal IK do. Which is frank;y fine because the double gatling knight is just the crusader with a gatling gun

That's why I said "wait" instead of "don't do it". It may turn out that these new datasheets are different in name only, but it's equally likely that they'll get rid of that option.

I doubt they will remove double gatling gun. Unless all the new dataslates are all also named "Renegade Knight" it will still be its own unit (and i reckon that the new dataslates will be called "Renegade Warden" and such). So it will still be legal unless they go out of their way to specifically say you can't use those rules

I was very surprised when they allowed the dual gatling as they have been very steadfast in the "kit contents dictates weapon options" for good or ill.

yeah me too, I hope they don't scratch it as it'll make a lot of people unhappy but.... I'd not bet money on them NOT scrapping it. definatly a "wait a week" situation IMHO

The traitor's hate book is out now, right?

What's the verdict?

Can Renegade Knights still run with the dual avenger gatling cannons, or not? I'll be pissed if the four I bought on ebay, are no longer usable. At least I magnetized all of my knights' weapons, so I won't have to cut any pieces off to make my knights playable again.

I have the book in front of me. The knights sections is just a basic knight with 2 melee weapons and one page of wargear (read weapons). I don't know what the datasheets looked like but you can replace either melee weapon with a thermal cannon, rapid-fire battle cannon or an avenger gatling cannon.

You can also mount am ironstorm missile pod, twin icarus autocannon or stormspear rocket pod to the top.
Sounds like it didn't change much.

You can bits order a second cannon.

You will have to sell your kidney to do so( $35-45 U.S. Was typical when I bought mine, not sure if they have gone up or down), but the look of horror on your opponent's face when you deploy it and then proceed to vaporize whole squads with each volley is priceless.

Thanks.

Fun to play too. It's a fire magnet because it's dangerous to ignore it, but Takes the heat off other targets that are usually primary.

Awesome! Sounds like they stayed the same.

Thanks for the info!

I got mine maybe a month or two ago for between 17 to 25 bucks including shipping on ebay, but yeah, still not what I would call cheap. The company I dealt with, Bits-World, (forgive me Mods, if we are not allowed to name drop ebay sellers, and feel free to redact it) have a great selection and amazing customer service.

One of the avenger gatling guns they sent me didn't have the little hood thing that goes on top of the cannon. Instead of asking me to return the cannon, and instead of sending me just the missing bit, they sent me a whole new cannon assembly. I was pretty surprised.

And definitely an awesome conversion job on your knight!

I'm really bummed out that Imperial Knights can't get the dual gatling guns; it looks cool in all the DoW3 footage, and I want all that dakka!

Forgefiend Hades Autocannons make decent Gatling Cannons for Chaos and should be alot easier to get.
