Wow quite a shock when I looked on the GW website today - new Kharn model plus this Traitors Hate book and new psychic cards
Thought Kharn model looks good, £22 seems to be taking the piss a bit but hey ho he's a looker and a nice detailed model so might pick one up at some stage.

What I'm a bit confused about though is this new book? (I hate the cover art, something doesn't look right) Does anyone know how far off 8th edition is?? Don't wanna be shelling out on more stuff if new codex/rules are on the horizon. I'm kinda torn, on one hand I'm loving the new releases, Chaos Knights and new models/rules etc but on the other hand the whole Daemon-kin codex and now this book combined with the speed of releases just seems very much like milking the cash cow.

Check the news and rumours section of the site. Apparently about a year if the usual rumour mongers should be believed. (Which they should be)

Just to add salt to the wound. 8th edition will drop and Codex CSM will be the 1st new release of the edition. Unfortunately GW feels that every codex regardless of how old or powerful, is to powerful. So to correct this problem they feel that 8th edition should be an edition of toning down armies instead of buffing them. To that conclusion expect CSM to receive army wide nerfs and a 5-10% increase in point costs per model. TO match the new release all new CSM figures will also receive a 20-30% increase in $Price. This will be the trend for 8th edition....at least the first 2-3 codex's (CSM, Nids, IG) Then they will realize nobody is buying their crappy new models with over priced and over costed rules. About this time they will release C:SM, Eldar, Tau and possibly Necrons. These will all receive massive buffs to make up for the down turn in sales. Having realized how stupid they are having made a horribly imbalanced game they will then return to nerfing codex's in order to bring some semblance of balance back to the game (Orks and DE).

You're welcome for pissing on your parade

That's really not fair, Mortis. They've only done that like three times before...

Brill cheers I'll take a look at that thread, bit anxious about it tbh - only just learned to play 7th and got my army lists down :(

What happens to my IA13 book when a new codex does drop, anyone know??

Yeah its just another supplement at the end of the day, more money for old rope, they really seem to be churning out the products atm - some good, some bad.
Big respect for the start collecting boxes and a glimmer of hope in the fact they've finally acknowledged social media! Major thumbs down though to destroying fantasy, specialist games and blatant cash grabs like this.
I know I don't have to buy this book it but just annoys me the lack of continuity with releases for my army and obvious milking.

Nothing is going to happen. The book is still there you can still use it (just like nothing happens to all the other books when their codex gets updated)

Hehe yea I'll steer clear of any rumours, tbh I'm only on this site for my 40k fix, maybe watch a few Fritz or Chaos Dave on youtube now and again.
Thats very true that the new kill team boxes are coming with 7th rulebooks, didn't think of that yea means its here to stay for the mo.

I think 8th edition will come next year (maybe summer). Blood Angels vs Chaos and Thousands Sons will come earlier I assume.

Nobody has mentioned how the rules for 8th edition are going to resemble AoS.

1) Watch for free dataslates that give you free rules but take away the points mechanic entirely. These will be supplemented by books before long, which will be necessary to play the game.

2) Watch for overly simplified rulesets that allow turns to pass in about 5 - 10 minutes. Possibly they will eliminate saving throws and to wound rolls in favor for a simpler mechanic like 'to blow things up.'

3) Watch for special rules like players literally needing to scream something in order to trigger USRs. When your flyer jinks, you will need to shout WOOSH to avoid enemy fire.
