I'm reading and rereading and not finding it. Where in the the General's Handbook is the "Retreat" mechanism? Page, column, paragraph?

Better yet, what is the game mechanic that allows for a withdrawal from a combat? Besides a clearing out of models (due to Battle Shock and carnage) making for more than 3" between enemy models?

Is there a mechanism to voluntarily bale out? Are there units that have this specifically?

Retreat is that mechanism and it is covered in the 4-page basic rules for AoS.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

It should be that simple, right? 4 pages of rules and I can't find it, which is why am I shaking my head at myself since I *can* find* rules in 40k's myriad pile of a Rule Book, but not AoS.

My book, seen here:

Page 4 has "Using Battle plans" and the rules are on 166 -169.

My guess is you have the download? It looks exactly the same to me, so ...

Could you please give me the 'heading' along with column and which paragraph down that column? For example, "Mortal Wounds" is on page 160, second column, 2nd column from the bottom. Mortals Wounds is before Cover and after inflicting Damage."

Could you provide that specificity?
