After 20 years its time to resurrect my long neglected Imperial Guard Army. A lot of it was missing or damaged, but with a few ebay purchases I'm managing to assemble a decent force. I decided to go for a Necromunda themed Army, Inspired by the awesome artwork on the plastic troop boxset.

Surprised by how well most of the models hold up today, the plastic troops in particular are on par with the best 6mm models around today.

Rough Riders and classic egg walker sentinels

40k meets GI Joe with the ludicrously over armed MKI Stormblade

Some of the Tanks I have done, working on a Shadowsword company and some vindicators.

Lastly my cannon fodder, erm Heroic Tactical Company. With a few Robots in support.

Lovely stuff! Really nice to see it all out in numbers.

Love the little Tanks, especially the 1997 revamped ones. Got some dumpy little Vindicators to paint today, they'll destroy the enemy with cuteness and big guns!

Thank ye. I need to double the size of the Army by the end of the week for the Guards first game against Eldar, going to be a challenge to get it all done, but at least I'll have a swanky force by the end

There certainly still the best plastics although some of the metals are better. Great looking army.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thanks. Theres loads of awesome models I wish I had picked up when I had the chance, completely missed out of the Forgeworld stuff. Trying to collect all the different variations of Superheavy Tanks, and those lovely Forgeworld ones are by far the hardest to find.

My latest addition, a squad of Vindicators to support my Tactical Company. Should come in handy for clearing enemy troops out of fortifications and buildings. The Stormblades there to help my camera focus, it can have trouble with the tiny epic stuff.

Completed my Shadowsword company, that finishes off my selection of assault guns. Now only one Baneblade, three Rhinos and 10 assorted infantry stands to go. Looks like I'm on course to meet my deadline of Saturday for the game

Cheers

I didn’t realise how much I missed it, shouldn’t have stopped after the great catastrophe of 97. Its a good time to get back to it, with quite a few 6mm ranges out there, that at a push make good proxies

Makes me want to dust of my Epic again
Not had a game in 6 months now.

All looks quality though!
And trolls under the bridge miniatures make some nice stand in models too
