Yep, that's where the last thread on this (dormant for 3 monthsish) is, so I'm going to shift this up there, but it can serve as a new thread for it since that last one is, as I said, a bit old.
I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
I always have itunes going on random, so there's always something different. Right now it's Where Eagles Dare for good ole Iron Maiden. Right before that was Terminal from Paradise Lost.

I know, right? I'm a crusty old metalhead, and I'm stoked the kids are putting out metal that isn't all brutal and growl all the time.
Speaking of brutal and growl, Strapping Young Lad is one of the very best heavy (as in, heavy as a really heavy thing) metal bands there ever was.
Devin Townsend was the main guitarist/vocals of that legendary band. He's older now, and a father. This is what he's up to these days:
I can't recommend it enough. If you like your metal prog and melodic, this is absolute top quality stuff.

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos
"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001
Nice choice. City was a game changer when I was a young man. Devin Townsend did a Wikipedia Fact or Fiction interview recently where he explains SYL as a defense mechanism to overt displays of aggression.

Yeah that was the same video i watched that made me say "ohhh now thats a good band"
It's been a month since the show I went to (which was unbelievably awesome), but Blind Guardian hasn't really left my playlist since then. To interpret the topic literally, the most recent album:
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
In regards to music noticing different things with the music used for Overwatch... I normally listen at a lower volume when at my apartment... mostly to be wary if my roommates or cats need something... tonight though I'm visiting California and have the volume higher... noticing some different parts to the music; different instruments I didn't notice before.
If you are interested in where modern metal got most of it's ideas from, this record was a watershed moment in the evolution of heavy metal.
