Just have a chance to look into the codex, other than the 3 units in pre-order, there is a new tank(yes the mining tank) releasing next week . You get a few IG tanks and walker in the codex. And all other unit is all in the overwatch boxset( lack of upgrade parts)

The purestrain genestealer is better than what you get in nids dex.
And it will be kind expensive to build up a 1500pts army as most of them are only 6-13pts(can't remember), only the aberrants cost 30pts each

Only a quick look, or a full read through? You're about to be really popular

How much better are we talking for the Purestrain? What specific Astra Militarum units are they getting?

Also, any indication of the rules for the mining tank?

I was thinking it was more Orky than IG.

Mining tank? Is that the Goliath truck/rockgrinder (pg 31) or is there another mining tank coming?

Thanks for the teasers.

And Eldar it's much easier for a marine to break out of the webbing than the others.

I also like how some of the weapons on the truck have a arm turret so it can raise up and turn to shoot stuff on the left side of the truck past the drivers area.

Are the webber guns template weapons? What's the difference between the web pistols and the web guns?

Time of Ending is everything since 744.M41 per the 5th Edition BRB. So not new.

Poor, poor grots.

The stronger you are, the faster you can break out before it can penetrate your armor. Makes sense. I probably would have gone with a wound vs Strength value instead of toughness personally though, but for most models that is the same, so I guess this way is more unique.

Wow that's imaginative. Lets take the wording from Warhammer and reverse it.

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V

You know what I like about this release - what is NOT in it. No fifty foot tall genestealer mutant. No giant robot. No psyker on a column of fire. No flyer. It's gritty - the "mining" theme is awesome. Really old school.

How are genestealers better in the cult book? Other then being able to ambush and ride in trucks?

Can't ride in tank, only hybrid can
Is able to ambush, it can place to ongoing reserve anytime at movement phase

The genestealer a from overkill have hit and run plus stealth for 1pt extra but I don't know whether all purestrains will get that or just these two since they're named.

Would be cool if they had like a power loader exo-suit fitted with power claws or something, though. Or some big industrial land crawler type thing.

Wishlisting aside: Overall, very chuffed with this release so far. Stunning minis. Now all they need to do is have a Genestealer purestrain kit ala DW: Overkill. A bit more up to date I think.

is the intention that you're supposed to make the guardsmen more cult-like with bits from the neophytes kit, or that the IG allies are simply hypnotized humans?

So Guys - what version do you like more - the normal Goliath Truck, or the Goliath Rockgrinder? Or will you stay with good old Astra Militarum tanks?^^

Well GW it looks like I'm back in. The addition of the IG makes this so much easier for me as I bought the 4th ed IG army release with the 20 man Cadian boxes and extra goodies and never got around to building them.

If the Goliath truck is a general, not a dedicated transport like a LR, they will be able to get a ride.
