That guy is suppose to look messed up, this new one has no excuse.

I heard the "ugly" guy (who I like) that we got earlier was a test sculpt done by someone to prove themselves and learn the FW style after just joining their staff... Its a love it or leave it model... this new guy however looks like a piece done for a similar reason, something someone with less experience sculpted.

+1

The paper is bent (intentionally it seems). Guys, look in a distorting mirror and see how pretty you are.

I have a feeling that this Facebook video teaser has something to do with the miniature...

That model is just terrible. The proportions are so off that it looks like a child's head coming out of the armor. The fact that the banner is so warped just adds to the terrible, rushed feel of the miniature.

I'd be tempted to get it to convert the banner to show the Ultramarines conquered Northern Ireland;

You do realize that the banner is not warped, the pamphlet with the picture of the model wasn't laid flat when the picture was taken.

Look carefully at the left side of this image. It's folded in two different directions, an 'S' shape, really distorting the image.

I will need to see the image laid out flat before a judgement call.

True dat. I'll defile him enough to make him part of my 14th. It's only one legion away, anyway, right?

The 'the standard is warped' is a meme right?

We realise the reason it's warped is the picture on the paper right?

It's possible the bend in the flyer, because of how it's being held, is contributing to the "tiny head" effect.

Still not a good looking mini, but need more photos.

I am a little confused by all this. The forgeworld Facebook page posted a video about October 22nd being ultramarine related. The big release from GW this month is prospero which is space wolves. The next big forgeworld release is also about prospero.
So what have ultramarine a got to do with anything? Is this just a random rubbish model or is it promoting something?
The only thing I can think of is forgeworld finally being available in GW stores.

This was just posted on my local GW's Facebook page, so there should be better pics floating around the internet soon enough.

EDIT: Other semi-local GW store just uploaded a picture of the full poster with model.

Feth, that's a shame. I was really hoping it was a fan piece. I was looking forward to a decent Ventanus model. That is just appalling.

Since it's a limited edition model I doubt it'll actually be Ventanus, especially since the model looks nothing like the artwork with the head and shoulder pads it has.

Why are forgeworld's limited edition models always so rubbish? I think the only one I liked was the one who was summoning a Deamon.

Personally I believe the sculptor was watching Doctor Who before he sculpted what is obviously a Sontaran.

Better, but still ugly af: the leg position, the birth-giving waist, the monkey face, cartoonish shoulder pad studs. I'm almost glad that the first official GW is roughly 500 km away, so I won't be tempted to buy it, just to resell it later on ebay or trade it for any of the other, better looking ltd models.

I generally don't have anything negative to say about Forge World's characters but I'm struggling here. The banner still seems to have a slight curve in it and, maybe it's me but I those calves look a little thick compared to the rest of the model. Yep, I think I'll be taking a pass on this one.
