So in recent years we've had Knights, the admech, the Deathwatch and now Genestealer cults all back in 40k, and this is great. Who do you think they'll bring back next, and what would you like them to do with said army?

I'm really hoping that they look to the sisters. They're one of the coolest armies in the fluff yet they've been badly neglected for far too long. Another force I'd like to see is the Arbites. They'd be great enemies for the stealer cults.

It would be tricky but I would love to see the lost and the damned come back in a more official capacity too. That's a hat trick of chaos armies then.

I'd like to see Sisters. Please GW. You've brought some very fun factions into the game. Leave Squats as a meme, and actually make Sisters a plastic product line, with a physical codex.

They/them

GROOOT!!! I mean Kroot. Except make them way cooler with a Predator theme and they will print money among the Tau fans. Right now the Kroot are suffering an identity crisis with what they are. In theory they are cool and the default Kroot look cool enough not to get removed from the codex. It doen't help GW nerfed their close combat abilities.

It was the FW Kroot that was a lost opportunity of poor rules.

Revamping the Kroot to be more like Predators look wise, rule wise, and technology wise will be more interesting. There's just nothing interesting that can be done with their current fluff about minor adaptations. The whole beak thing doesn't look too cool when it's turned into other things. Look at the greater gnarloc thing could have been a cool dinosaur instead had that big dumb beak.

There are some cool elements to the Kroot like their hunting abilities and some of the fluff I like, but I do think they need a stronger direction.

It would be so easy to say this is a specific offshoot of Kroot who have adapted to be stronger, smarter, and use more Tau technology like cloaking, powerful high tech wrist blades form their own high tech past, and shoulder mounted plasma guns. Full on plasma guns not just the Kroot rounds.

They might want to see their Empire restored to a more technologically potent state. They would focus on going on galaxy spanning hunts to consume the strongest, smartest, and worthiest prey so they can get stronger, faster, and more advanced.

Kroot Chief Shapers are reconnecting to their psychic roots and would would go on vision quests to attain a spirit animals. These vision quests lead them to taming various different and powerful monsters and potent Kroot psychic powers.

You could introduce a few species that are non-Kroot they have tamed like an actual big cool dinosaur geared up with weapons, a cool giant flying "thunder bird" that shoots lighting, and jumping insect mounts that act as bikers.

Their long lost Kroot Technology is being brought back online and in some cases improved with new Tau technology the big center piece kit would be a Kroot Hunting Clans Trophy Ships, small agile drop ships that take them down to the planet and offer fire support against more technologically advanced foes.

These small drop ships eventually take their trophies, kills, and meat back to the nearby "mother ship" which is an old refitted Kroot Empire battleship refitted for their new needs and with Tau technology. Each Kroot Clan would have its own mothership to operate out of. That would be a cool addition to the Battlefleet Gothic range. Look at Yajuta (Predator) style of ships to get an idea of these aliens would look like.

A cool piece of lore is that they capture dangerous aliens from all across the galaxy to fight or use in fights in their clan ships. The Dark Eldar in particular gather a lot of interesting specimens from the Kroot Clans when time is of the necessity since the two seem to share a fondness for the same types of dangerous animals. This mutual respect for the kill gains them frequent mercenary contracts.

These Kroot Hunting Clans would still share a very mercenary outlook with most other races and hire themselves out at every opportunity to improve themselves. For the right price they can even be coaxed into taking prey back alive.

Then just spice this all up with some crazy 40k over the topness. Battle Brothers with Tau, Eldar, Eldar Exodites, Dark Eldar, and Demiurge Brotherhoods, Necrons, and Orks.

Allies of Convenience Imperium of Man.

Come the Apocalypse Chaos Forces, Tyranids, Genestealer Cults.

Nothing- a new, non human or human like alien race is what 40k needs. Right now only tyranids are really 'alien.'

I agree with bringing a Kroot army would be cool. Especially if they can gain new abilities every time the beat a unit in cc, which would be cool and fluffy

Shred City.

I'm also hoping for Sisters just to start getting some new sculpts/renditions of preachers and other characters that I can use for converting to my Inq band or to act as familiars/housecarls to heroes from other armies.

Cherubs with weapons, menials carrying standards, missionaries, servo-skull familiars, new servitor models, etc, etc.

Honestly? I think GW will do both Kroot and Sisters and a new xenos race. They've listened to all the other requests. They have to know how popular these are. The only major things left to do really.

If Games Workshop releases Kroot, Sisters, a new xenos. and updates the Chaos range what is left to do other than giving all the existing armies new updates?

Hmmm.... even my creativity is drawing a blank for once. I guess when it happens I'll have to wait and see.

I could see Adeptus Arbities being cool at some far future point in time.

Possibly, more fully fleshed Admech/Skits.
Decent release (40k not FW) but lacking in some areas.

Dark mech ala 40k style.

DE redo maybe.

IG traitor and cultists (not FW prices)

They will have to add some Marine stuff amongst the rest - hopefulyl some fo the Chapters thus far neglected - so Raven Guard snipers / stealth teams etc.

Arbites would be a cool anti- Genestealer Cult and would be a good possibity for another boardgame along with Hive Gangers

Humand / Xenos Pirates and Mercs would be a fun addiiton

traitor guard is come to think of it something they could do VERY VERY easily, release a few new kits, maybe a infantry squad and a HQ clampack or two, then rebox most of the IG vehicle range with a chaos upgrade sprue. much like how most of the death watch boxes, I'd proably ditch valkyries as they're technicly imperial navy

A stand alone Kroot army (as allies to the tau) is a great idea! If they do that though I think they should remove Kroot from the tau codes altogether and bring in new aliens to fill the gap. Say that these aliens and the Vespids are fully intergrated into the tau military but the Kroot are less so.

But sisters really deserve a look. I know that any plastics they get will be amazing for sure. But arbiters would be nice too.

What if they made an alien mercs codex? Containing many different types of mercenaries that armies can use?

Dunno if they're a candidate to be "brought back" since I have no clue if they ever formally existed, but I'd love to see an Eldar Exodites book. Otherwise, I am guessing Sisters are virtually a lock.

They might change the playstyle of the Kroot, but they're never going to change the look. They're bird-men who eat people. That's their schtick.

They could definitely make Kroot into an interesting army. I'm surprised how they let it slide (one of their neatest original designs).

So, a new boxed game featuring plastic Sisters with plastic Arbites fighting Kroot? Got it.

Kroot, 4-5 mentioned here. Do people really like them / want them?
I see them as grots personally, uninspired shoot offs?
Just me?

I for one want them. I think they are a very unique and cool looking force. They have some cool fluff, and I think a lot of players would want to see more possible units for them then the 4 they have. I also think it's interesting that the Tau have these units that they use as mercenaries, and would like the Tau to have more mercenary options

Nope, not just you. I've hated the Kroot since I first purchased the first Tau codex in 3rd ed. They look horrible, the rules are (and really have always been) horrible, and I'm not a big fan of the fluff. The concept has promise, but it was just badly implemented and modelled.

I'm not against people that want them having them as an army, should GW choose to offer it, but I am most certainly not a fan of the Kroot.

Yeah. Oh if they reimagine the Kroot as cool Predator ripoffs I would keep them looking krooty if that makes sense just add in the cooler aspects of the Predators namely tons of awesome weapon customization.

I'd like to see some love for the actual Inquisitors maybe a couple of multiparty plastic kits like the Space Marine Commander something like that.

Otherwise I can only really echo what others have said.

I don't like the current design of the Kroot, but yeah, the concept has promise, maybe as part of a larger mercenaries faction or something that can ally with Tau.

I'd like to see Hrud revert to being Space Skaven too, and I genuinely would like to see the Squats return. A bunch of homeless dwarves with a grudge against the universe for destroying their Homeworld could make for an interesting concept in the right hands.
