Subject: Is Taudar still a thing?

Back in 6th ed when Eldar & Tau were BBs (best buddies, not battle brothers) it seemed like every tourney had a Taudar list place fairly well.
But since 7th ed, I haven't seen Taudar all that much. I would have thought that with Eldar getting even better with the addition of Scatterbikes & a GMC WK, and with Tau having access to a formation just of Riptides, that Taudar would be back in force.
So I know that not being besties anymore hurt their synergy, but is it really better just to play solo Eldar or solo Tau?
Seroiusly, where are all the lists with Scatter bikes & WK + Riptide Wings?

Not being BB's hurt a lot (thankfully) and quite frankly, why bother with Tau when the Eldar stuff is all just as good with similar capabilites?

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

True. I guess the players who were playing Taudar just dropped the Tau altogether once the Eldar codex hit. I was just wondering if anyone expects a resurgence using Riptide Wings

Not really. Riptide wings are fantastic at not dying - nothing is more survivable except actual titans (and that's debatable, at least for any titan lighter than a Reaver). They're not all that fantastically deadly compared to what Eldar can already do. Loss of Battle Brothers means no more Buffmanders with Wraithguard or Farseers putting psychic buffs on Riptides or Crisis Suits, etc, so a lot of the incentive is gone.
I still run them together sometimes, but for style rather than power reasons. For pure power, either army is better off flying solo.

Imho, not really. A question first: what is the hardest possible way to counter the most so called " OP" Eldar Jetbike and WKs? I think it should be Alpha Striking (especially those Grav Cannons especially the Skyhammer formation one). What will make the Droppod Marine cry? I think it is the Tau EWO (especially on that IA Riptide).
What is the Tau's greatest weakness? Imho it is either MSU fast units or tough assault units ( TWC or IK for example) or Psychic DeathStars. What is the best baby-sitter assault unit in the game? Sword and shield WK! What helps best to alleviate weakness in psychic? JetSeer Council! (at least 11 deny dice to start with, with some luck, you get a decent chance to stop that Draigo-Tiggy-Centurion Star to teleport in your face or deny their Invisibility then pound them into hell).
So you can see, Tau Riptide Wing and an powerful Eldar army fixes each others weakness almost perfectly. They don't need to be BB to benefit each other.
In my brainstorm, I have ideas which formulated into principles and combination to deal with Tau and Eldar. But the following brainstormed template list will just shutdown all combinations I can think about. I currently have no answer to such nasty
1850pts
Riptide Wing
3 Riptide with IA and EWO (~570pts total)
Eldar CAD
Autarch Jetbike
3 units of 3men Scatbike
WK
Eldar Jetseer Council
(7 Warlock)
Culexus Assassin
Anybody can offer idea How to deal with it and have at least a slight chance of winning?

Somewhat. Only the most cheesiest players run Taudar at my LGS, I'm talking Riptide Wing, Wraithknight, max out on Scatterbikes for a standard 2000 point list.

I've seen some other books ally in riptide wing using AoC, but Eldar doesn't need it. Some R&H players will bring RTW to tournaments alongside their artillery list, apparently it does pretty well. I couldn't bring myself to that level of cheese though.

A similar list won Nova, but swapping out the Seer Council for Warp Spiders and adding a Skatach Wraithknight w/ the Hellstorm gun.

Given that I play Eldar most of the counters that are appearing off the top of my head involve fighting fire with fire. The biggest hole in that list I see is limited ways to handle armour at range, a Gladius loaded with grav-weapons or a Stormlord loaded with grav-Marines would do it. Dreadknights can also outmaneuver a Culexis and a Wraithknight (at least in the short term) to catch the Riptide wing and disassemble them in melee, I've seen Necron veil/solar staff shenanigans they'd have a hard time with, and a Caestus full of Wulfen will get through and kill the Wraithknight (it's expensive, but it's hard to think of something that won't kill). And if you can get rid of the Wraithknight an Imperial Knight has no more trouble with anything left on the table (especially if it's an Achaeron who can dump an AP3 hellstorm template onto the scatterbikes/Culexis).
(Also that's closer to 2k if you're using the Jetseer council formation, there are two Farseers you haven't added in. If it's just the HQ choice you could drop them and the Autarch for a pair of jetbike Farseers in the CAD's HQ slots and have another two hundred points to play around with.)
