So, I'm quite fond of the new Custodian Guards. I love the overpriced, assault heavy, models to no end. However, I am aware of some faults and think some psyker support would increase effectiveness. One nasty note I find amongst the Custodes is they lack any kind of grenade (Frag, krak, you name it) which takes away any Init advantage. I would like to use them as a front line push towards nearby objectives or to cancel out other CC deathstars.
Assume 5 man Custodes squad 2 Spears, 3 Shields
I've some ideas on characters to help them out, and wanted some opinions. Also new ideas if you have them.

#1 GK Libby ML3 w/ Domina Liber Daemonica min. cost 160pts
Advantages- 4 rolls on Santic (Sanctuary for a 2++, Hammerhand for Str 7/8!) Frag, Krak, Variety of ranged options (Combiplas/melta). Deep Strike
Drawbacks - No sweeping from termiarmor, lacking anti vehicle outside of CC. Requires GK to avoid being unbound
#2 Inquisitor Coteaz 100pts
Advantages-Cheap w/lots of special rules. 2 Rolls on Divination for (Pres for rerolls, Forewarning for a 4++ unit). Can take in any imperial army, Frag, Krak
Drawbacks-Frail. No base invun
#3 Sevrin Loth (Forgeworld) 175pts
Advantages- Pick 3 powers (Likely Lifeleech, Endurance, Iron Arm), Counter Attack, 2++ Invun for warpcharge, Tough
Drawbacks-Least custom options for highest base cost. Forgeworld approval from fellow players before fielding. So-so warloard trait

I prefer Sevrin Loth. He's a solid fighter, Giving the squad a near guarantee of a 4+ FNP and relentless for the Bolters would be a nice touch of range. However, the chance of Hammerhand from either Coteaz or the GK makes the Custodes able to take a large number of walkers in CC.
So, any ideas or preferences for the Custodes?

You want Sevrin AND a GK Lirbarian. Loth can fish for literally any good power from Telepathy or Biomancy, and then the GK for Hammerhand.

Why not the stereotypical Librarius Conclave for re-rolling failed saves, and maybe some teleportation? (White scars of course to confer the ever-broken hit and run haha)

My mock up list combines them with a Lib Conclave (White scars) and then either Sevrin or Draigo in a CAD to have some obsec units while the main star runs around causing havoc.

I plan on DSing my Custodes, so I want anyone I bring to include the DS rule. Jump Pack chaplains have been considered. GK Termie Libs seem like an ideal choice.

That being said, Sevrin in a 10-man squad could be great. Add a Ministorum Priest or three and you're golden.

Yeah? I didn't think GK had Chapter Tactics and didn't stack with others as a result.

They don't, but the FAQ says that doesn't matter.

The Burning of Prospero I just ordered will be arriving by tomorrow, so I was also thinking about using Custodian Guards in games.
And just like OP, I concluded psychic support is a decent way of supplementing the guardians of Golden Throne.

For psychic powers, I believe Sanctic powers are most ideal for supporting Custodian Guard.
Hammerhand is quintessential for buffing S6 guardian spears, whereas gate of infinity is always nice for expensive footsloggers.
Sanctuary improves storm shields' save to 2++, and Vortex of Doom is handy especially when librarians and Custodian Guards arrive via Deep Strike.
The only underwhelming powers are Purge Soul and Cleansing Flame.

Might I suggest a blood angels librarian? Their primaris, quickening, could be quite good for the custodes. Wc1 for +D3 I and A to a target character.

By all means, use it all you want friend. I normally play by ITC rules. Strokes, folks, etc.
