I don't have the Generals Handbook at the moment so I can not look it up.

I want to play Ironjawz in a coming friendly Teams tournament, it's 1000 pts. per person. I want to use the Ironfist Battalion. But if I do so I don't have enough points for a Megaboss, Warchanter and 2 battleline units next to that.

So my question is... Do the Ardboys and Brutes count as battleline units even though they are in a battalion?
My battlescribe said no can't do. And the Generals Rulebooks sort of count it as a 60 pts upgrade right?

Ardboys and Brutes (and Gore-gruntas) are always Battleline so long as your army has the Ironjawz allegiance. In a 1000 point army, you could do...

Orruk Megaboss (140)
Warchanter (80)
Ironfist Battalion (60)
- 20x Ardboys (360)
- 5x Brutes (180)
- 3x Gore-gruntas (180)
(1000 total)

Thanks. That was my exact list I had. I just wasn't sure. Thought it worked like a formation in 40K, working outside of the regular list.

40K doesn't have army wide unit requirements like AoS has, its unit requirements are based on the detachments taken (and a formation is a type of detachment).

It's the standard Start Collecting + Extra Arboys/Brutes and a Megaboss list!
