I ended up falling into a Thousand Sons army (marines, tons of horrors, sorcerers, lords of change, and a burning chariot).

Would it worth it to get a 2nd chariot with an exalted flamer?

I planned on picking up some screamers and flamers.

This is going to be a long term project (getting ready for Magnus the Red).

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Chariots aren't really that great, what you want is the exalted flamer: the exalted flamers in a warpflame formation are devastating with either S10 solid shots or S6 flamers. However that formation would cost you quite a bit.

Looking at what you have now, I would say get Fateweaver and a few Heralds. Fateweaver is just a tool box with all his special rules, ML4 and access to all Tzeentch powers. Heralds are a must have because they are your main way of getting hellforged artifacts in your army.

The chariot itself isn't that great unless you're summoning them for free, but what you get in the box is a pretty great bargain: a Herald on a disc, an Exalted flamer, and 2 Screamers that you need only fashion a tail for.

How do you guys run heralds in this army? Just slap them on discs? and have them fly around? Or with another unit?

I slap him on a disc and hide him in a unit of Horrors at first, at least until I have some degree of confidence that it's safe-ish for him to go solo.

The Burning Chariot kit is great, especially since you're getting a bunch of Screamers out of it.

The Burning Chariots aren't that bad tbh. They're only 100pts, and it gives you a firing platform to be able to move 12" and shoot the Exalted Flamer's Heavy weapons (which is the biggest problem of taking Exalted Flamers on foot). Also, you can be a little cheeky and throw a Grimoire or something on it to soak up far more firepower than any open-topped AV10 vehicle should be able to take.

The exalted flamer can take the grimoire?

Isn't the weapon for Exalted flamer a heavy weapon? When it move, it has to snap fire........ Chariots do not have this trouble.

No. I meant use another demon to throw the Grimoire buff onto the Chariot so it can tank stuff with the Tzeentch Demon 're-roll saving throws of 1' rule.

You are correct, it does snap fire. Which is why I like to run the warpflame host as one unit and cast endurance on it, that way they can move and fire and they have a 4+ FnP which makes them much more survivable.

And how do you reliably get endurance?

You cross your fingers and hope.

I usually have at least two DP's rolling on biomancy and I hope for iron arm and endurance. If I get endurance: great! I have a unit then can jump around the board and devastate everything. If I don't get endurance: it's a shame but they can still hop forward with the rest of your assaulting army and provide covering fire for your units, or even better, you can hop them onto an objective and leave them there. A unit of exalted flamers on an objective can tear through most things that try to take it back, especially if they try to assault your wall of flames.

There is liturally a 1ksons codex coming out next month.

Its probably wise to wait and see just what it has, and what will come out good in it. (heck, what is in there in general!)

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Not only is the burning chariot a great kit to build, it's also great value (free Herald or Exalted Flamer, hell, even if you only want a disc herald, it's still cheaper and better than the finecast herald on disc) and I quite like the Burning Chariot ruleswise. That Torrent flamer is mean. Move 12' torrent 12" and an 8" template means that anything squishy is in for a bad time (why hello pathfinders/drones/scouts/devs etc) and d3 lascannons shots is also a nasty surprise on a mobile platform. While 3 AV10 HP doesn't sound like much, I've found that people routinely try to take it down with low powered weapons that would be much better used on my infantry and even when they do put a HP or two of damage on it, that 5++ works wonders, especially if you're near a herald on disc with Cursed Earth. For 100 points, I think they're pretty good value and not once have I ever been disappointed by mine. I own 3 and will frequently take all of them at once.
