Hey mates. As the title says, I am considering taking in a line formation of the Emperors Talon Recon Company, I'm only doing like the fluff of Sentinels, I also play Elysians and since Sentinels are the only vehicle type Elysians can field, I believe this formation will go well with them. With that being said, I haven't seen this unit in Action a lot so basically my question to you is what is a very effective way to run them?

Currently, I am planning on fielding all 12x of them as Armored Sentinels. Currently, one way I was seriously considering arming all 12x of them would be with Autocannons and Hunter Killer Missiles for all-around flexibility, but I have considered some with Plasma Cannons. Would appreciate any advice when it comes to arming them as well mates and thanks again.

I feel like most of the games I use this formation it puts work in, like secure an objective or take out a key unit on the flank. Ive only done 6 at a time cause I try not to spend more than 300 points on it. I keep some with the multilasers and pop tanks from the back. I put plasma cannons on at least 3 of them and they become a threat too, I think of it as an executioner tank with weaker armor but 6 HP. Recently Ive had them teamed up with the emperors wrath formation and its been dope. The only weapons on them I haven't had much luck with are the missile launchers and the flamethroahs.

It has never disappointed me, unlike most other units I run from the IG codex. I like them with just multilasers and run 6-9. I personally don't think the autocannon upgrade is worth it when they come stock with a ML.

Hmm I get your point made. However I was considering Autocannons because the extra strength is very nice and since my Army already has a lot of Veterans and Valkyries, I really lack any long range weaponry that can do some damage. Currently I am leaning towards 9x with Autocannons and 3x with Plasma Cannons, but I wouldn't mind mixing and matching Multi-Lasers and Autocannons. And while expensive, 12x with Plasma Cannons apparently can be very nasty as well.

I would advise against Plasma Cannons as the Get's Hot rule will kill you before the enemy. You only have 2 hull points.
I run 3 Armoured and 3 Scouts.
The Scouts get Autocannons or Multilasers and Hunter killers. their job is to outflank and kill something and then force the opponent to waste shots at them.
On the Armoured ones I am torn between Missiles and Heavy Flamers so I can outflank them in his backfield and distract him.
Don't forget the order to shoot and run. It imparts impressive mobility for Guard. Also one of the Sentinels is a Character so you can play tricks with Look out Sir!

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!
