Subject: Exalted rewards over Greater rewards - which is better?

Hey, I was recently scrolling through the German ETC lists when I came upon this...
HQ1: Lord of Change (230), Exalted Daemonic Reward (30), Lesser Daemonic Reward (10), Psyker Level 3 (25), The Impossible Robe (25) - [320pts]
My question is, what exactly is the advantage of rolling on exalted as opposed to greater ?

The only reason to take an Exalted reward is to swap if for Grimiore. However in the particular set-up you listed, the Robes count as the 1 Hell-forged artifact that LoC can have and therefore cannot swap for the Grimiore. My guess is that either A) the guy who wrote that list didn't know and no one called him on it or B) He did know, yet still no one called him on it. If it's A, then I would love to see his face when an opponent mentions that he cannot get Grimiore and most likely has a big unit that needs it.

You don't roll the exalted reward, you take it specifically to take the Grimoire of True NAmes or the Portalglyph sometimes

And as I mentioned, the set-up the OP is questioning CANNOT take either since the Impossibility Robes count as a Hell-forged Artifact, which are limited to 1 per model. So the OP's set-up legally can only roll the Exalted reward and can NEVER swap for Grimoire or Portalglyph. I suspect the guy who wrote the list was either ignorant of this, or intended on cheating.

It's also often the case that the Exalteds have a cool, nice to have effect like coming back to life with 1d3 wounds or something while all bar 1 of the greaters are survivability upgrades. If you're already rocking the robes, and going for the +1 invo to Tz units warlord trait or cursed earth, then you might as well roll exalted since you're not going to be taking any wounds anyway, might as well have something else to help instead of a 4+++ that you're never going to have to use.

Even when rolling on tables the greater is generally better thanks to durability buffs or the touch of uncreation result (flesh/armorbane)

Well he is German so I'll assume he wasn't using the Grim and the robes. I'll be on the safe side then, 2 greaters and lesser it is.
