Seen some ideas. Mashed them together into this list. Let me know your thoughts please.

KDK CAD

Chaos lord, Axe of ruin
Herald, locus of wrath

8 bloodletters
8 bloodletters

5 flesh hounds
5 flesh hounds
5 flesh hounds

CSM allied detachment

Kharn

30 cultists

Heldrake

CSM formation

Cyclopean Cabal

5 sorcerers, all ML3, all VotLW, all MoT, all with sigils.

The idea is the three units of hounds scout and then move. Then I go for soul switch. Kharn and the 5 sorcerers join the 30 cultists and the herald and lord. Big multi assaulting hatred deathstar.

Can this be decent in tournament games?

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Lose the MoT on the sorcerors otherwise you will have to roll on the Tzeentch disipline.
Besides that it could work but what if you don't get soul swap? All your dangerous models are foot slogging, to be consistantly dangerous your lord, herald and sorcerors all need to be on juggs/bikes for the increased manouverability.

I didn't realise I had to roll on the tzeench table. That sucks. Though I did read somewhere that they wouldn't be able to be in the same unit as Kharn as he was MoK. So I'd likely be dropping the mark anyway.

Do you really think I'll struggle to get the soul swap power with 15 attempts? But you're right, if I don't get it I'm screwed.

I'm going to alter my previous statement, if you are soul swapping then your lord and herald perhaps don't need a bike/jug (it would still make them better) but your sorcerors definitely need bikes. Bikes mean your sorcerors can fly aeound the table and witchfire any enemies who try to escape your cc units. I would definitely recommend psychic shriek for your powers on your sorcerors after you soul swap.

I see what you're trying to do, but honestly I don't think it hits hard enough to justify that expensive cabal. I don't know... maybe it could work... but I'd rather just use a list with lots more flesh hounds, a D-thirster or two and just walk Kharn up with his cultists hoping the opponent is too preoccupied with the fast elements of the list to have time to whittle down Kharn's cultist unit

The expensive cabal is one of the best parts of the list: the addition of 15WC helps control, or at least contest, the psychic phase with the ability to buff, debuff, control enemy units and blow away big units. If OP so wanted he could attempt to but out 5 psychic shrieks per turn with 3+ WC per power, very nasty against big models or large low Ld units.

Maybe you're right. It's so different to anything I've played before

A few years ago (think 2014) a guy went 10th with a bit different kind of list on NOVA.

He had:

Typhus (for Plaguezombies, which are better than normal cultists, but slower)
Kharn
20 Plaguezombies
21 Plaguezombies
3 Chaosterminators with melta
2 Helldrakes with Baleflamer
2x2 Obliterators with MoN

Allied Detachment
Deamonprince with MoN
Nurglings
Soulgrinder

So it's not the best List, but maybe you could build something out of it.

Would change his allied Detachment and the terminators for your Cabal.

Then put Typhus and Kharn each in a bunch of Zombies and let the cabal join Kharn or Typhus, which one you prefer.

Would also change the KDK CAD to a gorepack, then you have lots of fast units that can let you switch with your star.

Here my list, maybe it can help you:

Chaos Space Marines: CAD- 780 Points
Typhus
Kharn
30 Plaguezombies
20 Plaguezombies
Helldrake with Baleflamer

Chaos Space Marines: Cyclopia Cabal (BL) - 675 Points
5x Warlock, ML3, VotlW, Bike

Khorne Daemonkin: Gorepack - 392 Points
3 Chaosbiker
3 Chaosbiker
5 Fleshhounds
5 Fleshhounds
5 Fleshhounds

Points : 1847

I think you'd be better off going the Hound star route.
