What's your problem, did GW kill your puppy?
I really do not understand the people who wish for demise of GW. If you don't like their products, don't buy them.
And if you're not going to buy their stuff anyway, why do you care whether the company exists or not?The fact remains that a lot of people enjoy their products and it is pretty callous to wish that they'd be deprived of that enjoyment.
Like I think that most of Mantic minis are utter crap, but I still don't wish ill for Mantic. Many people like their products and their liking a thing I don't like don't hurt me in any way.
Very well said. I use to be like that sadly. I found out GW wasn't the problem, I was, and so I gave up and stopped buying GW. After all why hold so much hatred and negativity to a company that doesn't even know you exist. Sadly I was 35 years old when I realized being angry at plastic toy soldiers the problem was me, not the other way around. So true what you said.
That said, how does half a percent tank a company?

If you have been around for 13 years then you have had 8 years to move on to supported army. Either way the crux of the problem you face is in fact, yourself. There are certain realities people need to face in this hobby and as GW customers. As a chaos player I have to accept that I am collecting a punching bag army. I will never have an advantage or even be on par to the big 5. I dont know why, chaos sells, but its how it is.
This is an incredibly disgraceful thing to say.
In any case, there have been people left even in a worse place than SoB players: Squats players. Pretty much kicked out of the game almost two decades ago simply because, according to that useless buffoon called Jervis, the Studio guys couldn't come up with a way to keep the army interesting enough.
And let's not forget all the incredible Chaos-y conversions that 2nd edition promoted and 3rd edition promptly invalidated.
I fail to see how its disgraceful. Never did I condone sisters not getting supported. What I DID say was that there are certain realities that we, as GW customers, need to understand. One of those is that sisters will probably never get support on the level of other factions. Whats disgraceful is wishing ill will on others for your personal frustrations.

That does sound like an improvement, yes.
There is no guarantee a good company will get the 40k IP, it would be auctioned off so would go to the highest bidder. It could be bought out by a company even worse then GW Do those exist? Are there miniatures wargaming companies worse than GW out there?
It doesn't have to be a miniatures company. Any company could bid for the 40k IP. It could bought by a chinese company who only sells the pre existing models and doesn't add anything or even make rules for the game. Or it could have been bought by an random company who only wanted the ip and doesn't actually make a game with it

That assumes we're talking about an actual bankruptcy auction of assets, without any control by GW. The alternative is that GW gets into financial trouble where the end is inevitable and WOTC/ FFG/etc makes a deal to buy GW.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

The hobby will slowly die, with no new models to buy outside of gouged eBay prices. Standardized rules will fail, as each enclave of players uses their own ruleset and FAQ due to GW not being able to update the game anymore.
It's fething disturbing that you seem to want for that to happen, and watch the stocks with lustful eyes, hoping for absolute destruction instead of hoping for change.
I've seen it more times over the years than I care to remember.

Nice......
Yup.
Might give people some perspective on how Sisters of Battle players feel.
Yeh, I have one yet I don't moan about them not getting new models nor wish the same thing on other players though. I hope they do get new models so I can add more to them and do more with them, but at the same time there's other things that interest me. In the long run it means GW isn't getting as much money as they could from me.

If I had a problem against something, I should just leave. I said it applied to me a long time ago, nothing about you. I agreed that I shouldn't be buying their products if upset. And since I wasn't buying their products why should I be upset with them then.
Where did I say your name? Where did I say this applied to you? No my friend, I just agreed and how it applied to me and that he is correct.

Not really.
I lack the power to make the hobby itself suffer. So I can't make that happen just from saying bad things.
And let's say I felt the opposite, that I really really wanted GW to succeed. If they were going under as a company, my good thoughts wouldn't keep the company afloat.
Whether I say it or not, the same thing's going to happen.
So there's no difference. Because me saying it, or not saying it, is not going to make a difference.

You don't seem to understand, so I'll repeat myself; just having the thoughts/wishes/desires themselves are what makes you a bitter, spiteful person. Whether or not you have any power to act on those is utterly irrelevant to what anyone has said, and no such claims have been put fourth. Simple.

I think you're more superstitious than you'd like to admit.
You're placing an unwarranted amount of emphasis on wishing for things to happen.
Example: I wish a Gamma Ray Burst would just wipe out all life on Earth right now so humanity's reign of destruction can finally come to its inevitable conclusion.
There. I just gave a similar voice to my misanthropism.
You may notice that humanity was not destroyed by a Gamma Ray Burst.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

And having no intent whatsoever to make it happen.
And making no effort whatsoever to make it happen.
And wishing. Doesn't make things happen.

Why are you treating it as a real possibility that might happen?
I'm not. I'm treating it as showing your real attitude. Nobody wants to associate with people like that, even people with the same mindset. Automatically Appended Next Post: It is useless and a waste of your own time.

I want GW to fail so hard that they have no option but to sell off their IP to someone that will love it and nurture it to glory.
Along the way they will decrease prices.
Kind of how Disney took over Lucasfilm.
