(I bought 5 Havocs (4 + AC), and a guy gave me 4 spare SM heavies I converted. So I just threw them in this list.)

Hey, long time lurker first time poster. Pulling out my CSM (Iron Warriors) and Traitor Guard army from a dusty shelf after
a year and a half, trying to re-familiarize myself with my list.
Currently at 1423 points; bought things I find aesthetically pleasing, and used a lot of secondhand stuff I got for cheap... just because I really enjoy the painting, had some old imperial guardsmen and don't really have a group to play with anyways.
But, nonetheless, curious of where I could go with this list to make it more competitive and finish it up to 1850.
More Chaos Marines? Transports? Also haven't chosen a mark for my guys.
What do we think? Where would you go with this?

you're right, fixed it. any thoughts on the army though???

So couple things.

I assume you may have started this in 6ed when CSM and IG were allies of convenience? Imperial Guard and CSM are now come the apocalypse allies. Technically legal build but many events disallow come the apocalpypse allies.

The good news is Forgeworld created a Renegade Guard army list so you can still create a legal army. A better one really since they are battle brothers, have more efficient rules than IG and have more chaos flavor. The bad news is you gotta track down a copy of those rules.

CSM side you have a fairly generic set of units here. The good news is you have the makings of a Chaos Warband Formation which is the basic building block of some new detachments in the CSM supplement Traitor Legions. Bad news is that's a whole nother book to track down.

The havoc squad is illegal. You can only have 4 heavy weapons in the squad. So will need to create some nnew havoc squads for them or get the troop CSM to 10 man sized so they can take the heavy.

Other than that its hard to help you without knowing the flavor of chaos you like and what type of list you are going for. Right now you lack the kind of teeth most competitive lists have and it would probably require dropping many of he things listed here for things that will work well in a tournament.

@winterman : ah yes. it's all coming together now. I thought I was creating something unique and special, and along comes FW to steal my thunder.
As for the Havocs, I figured as much. They were free models, no biggie.
As for the mark, I'm going to read the iron warriors omnibus so I guess I'll see if something in there inspires me.
