Hi All,

My local GW is getting some 30k together and one of the absent legions are the Imperial Fists.
Can I get some feedback on the below list? I'm not looking to be OP but strongly competitive (if there is a difference )

HQ -- 1990 -- Stone gauntlet
Praetor terminator 185
Paragon blade, Vigil SS, digital lasers

Centurion, master of signal 95 (With the missile launchers, sitting next to the battery)

Elites 820
5 terminators// 625
Vigil SS, power fists
Spartan, flair shield

Legion Rapier battery 195
3, frag shells, shatter shells

Troops
Breacher Squad 255
Sgt Artificer armour, Power fist
2 Gravaton guns

Breacher Squad 255
Sgt Artificer armour, Power fist
2 Gravaton guns

Legion tactical squad 220
Chainswords,Vox
Sargent, power fist, artificer armour
Rhino, dozer blades

Heavy Support
Heavy support squad160
Missiles

The idea is that the battery, missiles and breachers sit back and receive the enemy as well as secure deployment field objectives. The tac squad would drive around, voxing to the battery and generally be a pain.
The terminators and praetor in the Spartan are there to take on the enemies most deadly unite, hopefully toughness 5 2+/3++ terminators can do it! I'm open for suggestions for a cheaper way to deploy an anti death star.

Expansion of this army would include more terminators, CC dreadnoughts and a lord of war of some sort.

So what do you think?

Holy Terra.

Seeing as your running Stone Gauntlet, nad have breacher models, why not run them as Phalanx Warders, They cost the same, have the same wargear BUT get +1 Initiative when THEY GET CHARGED. So they can defend against pretty much anything, except for EC, and due to Stone Gauntlet they become troops and are thus scoring units.

You seem to be lacking anti tank power, something that is needed in most 30k games. Even if your trying to run a fast force, or an army that stays back and defends, your gonna need some sort of AP 2/1 weapon. I would suggest either Laser Destroyer Rapiers, grav Rapiers or a vindicator with a laser destroyer array, which is what I use. The Vindicator pumps out up to 3 Ordnace Str 9 Ap 1 TL shots a turn, which can even damage souped-up Spartans, and mine destroyed a fellblade once.

Other than that, your list seems solid. Hope I helped.

Cool thanks!
The issue with the stone gauntlet is that Breachers must make up the core troop cost. Bummer! I guess t5 troops with a 3+/5++ will have to do... hehe

I hear you on the anti armor, I might drop the missiles for the vindicator or something

Cheers

Holy Terra.

I check my Red Books and 1d4chan and it appears you actually CAN us Wanders as troops using Stone Gauntlet. Also, you may want to exchange your missile squad for one with heavy bolters, to get the +1 BS that makes Fists so awesome.

I can confirm with Stone Gauntlet you can take Phalanx Warders as troops.

Has there been a update though?

We bought latest Red Books (Legion and Generic) from Forgeworld and it says Shield wall gives them +1 WS not INT

Pretty sure they changed it to WS, so you can take the power axes, as +1 int would make taking the axes useless

Holy Terra.

Yeah, sorry about that. I remeber it being Initiative from the old books, I played a doubles game with a fists player who only ran warders, compensated well by my Raven Guard fast units.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Newcastle

Both IF ROW let the warders be troops and in the Hammerfall Strikeforce they can be your compulsory troops however for the stone gauntlet you must run a minimum of 2 breacher squads no if or buts.

Yep, it's under the limitation section of the ROW, not the strength

So other than add tank killing you all like it? Nice!
Although I now have an urge for dreadnoughts... Hmmm where to cut

There arent sufficient bodies on the table there I believe

Whats the plan with the breachers? Their range will be limited to a great extent (and graviton is heavy as well)

I would replace the Praetor with Sigismund or even Polux.

The master of the signal can probably be replaced by 2 Apothecaries to accompany the breachers (T5 and FNP now )

Stone Gauntlet is very cool but also very slow and expensive. Consider that bit. I think its real benefit comes in with Zone Mortalis to be honest.
