Pretty much. I really like the way the narrative is headed and am excited about the advancement of the plot.......BUT

It could also be the "midichlorians" of 40k. GW needs to proceed VERY carefully. We don't need anymore Grey Knights killing sisters for their blood and nonsense like that. If they really are going to do this, they need to go slow. Pray to the emperor that they have their best writers on this.

I hope they take 5-10 years to reach Terra that is IF they reach Terra. As Rob mentioned in the twitch episode, there is so many worlds and so many stories to tell that they may never reach terra.

Well, at least releasing them got me here. What's happening in 40k land? Is this a full SOB release or just three models and "hope"?

Something to keep in mind amist all the happiness greeting these great models is we're seeing yet more amping up of power levels. St Celestine was always a neat character and a useful one, but from what (little) we have seen she's now blowing away King Kong-sized demons with a nasty look. So we're adding Supergirl to a game already overwhelmed by mecha and kaiju.

No one ever doubted GW's ability to make amazing models. And after the last few years no one should doubt GW's willingness to broaden and deepen their universe.

But will Celestine, Cyber Potato Bug and Autumn on Cadia do anything to arrest the rules bloat and power creep in the game?

No, clearly not.

The latter, more could come later on. But the back cover of this new campaign book clearly shows the old metal sisters troops. So I think if they even had a full range planned in the first place...then they aren't ready this soon. It's almost like they are still testing the waters or something, or by trickling plastic kits over the course of next year they will drive people into a frenzy to buy up each kit in droves as its released. It's a sure thing that these 3 sisters are going to sell like crazy.

The only thing that is going to fix 40ks game rules or make it fun again is a revamp, cause right now its convoluted to the point where I don't even feel like making an effort. Blood Bowl is at about the right level of complexity for me, anything crazier than that is too much like work.

Yeah that art certainly depicts Celestine in a manner which suggests at very minimum she is to become a Lord of War. Honestly, I would be totally fine with that. Sisters have been on the bottom tiers for so long that they need "something" to make them more competitive. At the same time, I don't want them to become the new Eldar army. Power creep is out of control atm. If it continues to run rampant, it will eventually all come crashing down. Even now, at this moment only about 1/2 the armies out there are viable/competitive. Hopefully GW has learned from their errors in 7th edition, but at present it doesn't look like it.

At this point I'm 99% sure plastic sisters troops will be released in the near future.

Well if one wants to come up with reasons howabout move away from basic grunts and more into special units and uber stuff like in AOS side. Everything needs to be somehow special. Base SOB could be too normal for GW.

On AOS side you don't need big line for faction. There's factions with just 1 or 2 entries in them...Technically this could fit into that pattern.

This is mainly the legacy lines which didn't receive any update so far. Only one I can think of from the "new" lines is the Extremis Chambers (--> Ridden Stormcasts) with two models ... which nobody (exaggeration of mine) plays on ist own.

Who says anything about Celestine faction being played on it's own? GW is pushing idea of more and more factions from which you pick what you want.

Small faction that has couple special guys that IOM(and well frankly the way GW does it chaos and tyranids as well) can use...Entirely plausible.

Albeit odds are very good there is going to be more plastic sisters on their way but technically having very tiny faction to be used as part of larger force isn't impossible. In modern 40k idea of sticking to one faction is pretty much outdated anyway.

Not just 40k but GW as a whole.

Guess their designers can't come up with interesting troops. Easier to create big character with tons of special rules and lots of bling. Oh and skulls

Though when they do release troops they are nice. Which is why I'm hoping for basic SOB to appear. Celestine is meh. Wouldn't even be using that all that much in a game anyway. Doesn't make sense to have her in every game.

The dark eldar fanatics from thedarkcity are 99.99% positive its an Inubi since its got the eldar back fin things. We knew there would be DE models released of some kind, and for plot reasons it meshes up right with what we know form the Ad Mech teaming up with the DE to save the golden throne.

It's nothing to do with bad designers. Jeez guys, have you seen the Skitarii or GS Cult? GW is knocking troops sculpts out if the park these days.

They're creating what they think is cool and that may tickle some nostalgia bones. Some of the snark is seriously misplaced. If you don't like the models or game direction, fine, but let's not have a bashing session slagging off clearly talented miniature designers.

More character driven in what way?

We've just had Rubrics, both PA and TA, Tzaangors, SoS, Custodes, MkIII, Tartaros Termies and two sets of Genestealer hybrids

Doubt it, we already know Cadia will fall and since Sisters are involved GW will follow the tradition of Sisters getting completely crushed. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Celestine is killed by Abaddon and a lonely space marine charges in and manages to wound Abaddon so he flees back to his ships and does exterminatus on Cadia.
Abaddon will reach Terra and he will reach the throne room, I believe this is 100% set in stone. There are then a few ways it will play out.

Chaos gods gave him a pokeball in which to trap the emperor soul, he slaughters all guards and is about to use it when Alpharius and Omegon goes "-HAH HAAA we are not your body guards but infact Alpha Legion Primarchs!". Abaddon goes meh and bitch slaps them to the floor, he continues to prepare the pokeball and just as he is about to use it Cypher rushes past him and plunges his sword into the Emperor, thus releasing him from the Golden Throne. Emperor explodes ala Slaanesh birth and destroys all chaos taint within the solar system as he is reborn as the Chaos god of Faith/Hope/Mankind. Magnus who was standing behind Abaddon is cleansed of chaos taint whilst Abaddon is burnt to cinders because he couldn't shield himself with a kindshield and the chaos gods couldn't penetrate the palace to protect him due to all the wards and stuff.

Emperor is reborn and forgives Magnus as he never intended to have Magnus killed in the first place. We then continue a storyline similar to Text to Speech. Emperor isn't happy with his imperium, Primarchs aren't happy with things and there is general chaos all over the imperium due to... well... everything really.
So the emperor sets out to do a new great crusade and that's where 8E starts.

There you go, I've just spoiled the end of 40K and the beginning of Age of the Emprah..

Shocking, I know, but women have been known to wear high heels. It's even been the case that sometimes, people will choose fashion over practicalities!

Seriously though, it's two models, one of which is explicitly a reproduction of a piece of art that features heels.

You mean the ranges where the same sculptor did the infantry kits for both? GW have talented people working there, but not everyone who works there is on the same level as the one guy turning out consistently excellent infantry, and the people making the decisions as to exactly what gets made aren't doing so well IMO.

Remember, you can melt it down in a bread baking pan for free, GW has to pay people for that. Throw in the premium they make on sisters models compared to other metal models, and I'd be wanting to sell any leftover sisters too.

You are assuming that GW has been sitting on an apparent mountain of completed models for forever that they would have to move.

Despite the fact that the line routinely goes out of stock, comes back, goes out. Which would suggest that they have just been casting to meet current demands over the years. Not sitting like a dragon on some huge mound of stormbolter sisters. You know, using basic manufacturing pull system production processes.

Product sitting on the floor in the warehouse costs money, if it doesn't move you aren't making anything off of your investment in it but you are paying for the metal its made of and the space it sits on. Add in the cost to package them, handle them a thousand times moving them out of the way of all the product that is selling. Suffering wastage as your staff has issues with moving around your mountain of figs and destroys it a few boxes at a time.

Literally everything about manufacturing points towards the fact that there never was a mountain of Sister figs piled on top of the vault of plastic Sisters deep inside the bowels of Games Workshop. This months Sisters reboxing and re-release involved them casting a great majority of the models to whatever they foresaw as the demand for them. Judging by the availability of the new Canoness they were probably smart about it and aimed conservatively.

Always leave them wanting more and all that. This Sisters release last week means that they will be selling the metal models for some time yet. It probably reset the clock on a full Sisters plastic release, a huge pile if metal sisters sitting on the GW warehouse floor is certainly NOT the cause of delay for plastic sisters.

When are the Sororitas Tactical Cards coming?

I disagree, Blanche's artwork was very svelte, the model is chunky and the foot to thigh ratio ruins the model compared to the artwork.

I reckon Celestine is doomed. She's written as organising the initial defence of Cadia, right? Which means she has to die horribly at the end of the first book so the Space Marines can take over command and use her demise as resolve to smash le heretics 4 de Emprah. Creed is probably going to get killed off-screen too.

GW have shown they can do short run plastic kits (which I assume they can make short run moulds cheaply enough for it to be financially viable).

Not saying I think it's going to happen, but nor would it surprise me.

I'm still waiting to see plastic Sisters, I'm not yet convinced, if GW were trying to clear out the metals they would have put "last chance to buy" on them like they did with Celestine, which is the only model we've seen.

St Celestine may get killed but thats no reason she will not be in the later book (s). Sheild of Baal did show that GW can have Sisters kicking serious ass and survive.

Lets hope it continues!

St C organising the defence? Interesting to see how that works and if she is in a accompanying novel how she is portrayed.....she does appear to be leading a relief force in the pic which shows the beleagured Guard and Marines - so maybe she is killed and then she re-aoppears at the head of a Black Templars / Sister Crusade force.

Glottkin was the major antagonist during the Sylvaneth plotline. Alarielle personally kicked their ass and then kicked them out of the realm of life.

Oh Celestine will die in some dramatic, over the top fashion. But then she'll come right back again, as that is pretty much her whole point. Continual resurrection.
