And if I recall correctly the Long Fang and Skyclaw boxed sets came out around the same time as the new Devs and Assault Marines.

Based on current rumours, I wouldn't get my hopes up that any faction will be getting new models, other than named Characters (and yes, that includes SoB for at least the next 6 months)

They could release new Cadian sculpts whilst continuing to shift the old ones in the Hybrid kit. Hell, Forge World should package them with their renegade kits too.

There are no rumours what-so-ever that Cadians are getting new models, as well as every other faction (except named Characters). This is news and rumour thread guys, make one in the general if you want to talk about how GW could hypothetically release new guard models.

Yeah, a Re-cut for the Cadians ATM means repacking the Hybrid Squads. It's the reason I assume if their is any chance to some IG love it would have to be int he form of all new plastics.

Strictly speaking, that's not true.

Space Wolves are a great example for this. The Devastator and Assault Marine kits that are included with Skyclaws and Long Fangs are the previous ones, with no Grav or Eviscerator options.

Well, review copies went out but with holiday mail who knows who will get what when. But since pre-order is Saturday Warhammer Community should start revealing much this week. Not sure if Monday Jan 2 is a holiday in the UK. If the open day is tomorrow then maybe most people are off work? NO clue. But between WD and Warhammer Community I look forward to getting the details ASAP.

Yes, as both Christmas and New Year have fallen on Sunday, there have been extra holidays to compensate, late Tuesday (Monday was already a holiday) and tomorrow.

Not really, they could just have those keep using the old sprues. One faction shouldn't be gimped just because another happens to use some of the same models.

GSC is just an upgrade sprue. If they recut cadians, they could just put the GSC sprue in with the new kit and repackage the hybrid box.

Well. The idea has been to add new features in the recuts. SM tac recut got grav guns and grav pistol as new options. Plus added combi weapons that was missing from the kits but part of the rules.

SM assault squads were recut and given the option for evisorators and grav pistols.

Firewarriors became a duel kit with Breachers.

They could do another campaign boxed set between the two books. Wouldn't be the first (or even the third) time they've done it.

Could be a place to release new plastic Doobie/Chosen, plus Guard Veterans or something like that. New plastic Guard HQ?

If the IG weren't so generic for the majority of their models, more people might play them. On top of this they're extremely outdated and now would be the perfect time to bring a new codex or updates. (They aren't in as bad a position as some, but they're still ancient.)

Other than the scions, the IG models are pretty terrible.

That would be nice, perhaps some sort of "Supreme Command Retinue" type situation with a really over the top commander in a big information throne with holograms and servitors with mile long trains of autoscript printouts and a really fancy standard bearer/vox.

A mini tarantula as an upgrade would be pretty cool, since they have the precedent in the DS8 turret in the Fire Warriors kit. Multilaser HW teams are also a glaring ommision in the Guard range. Maybe a siege unit of guard with a combat shield and shotgun. They can do a lot to expand the basic Infantry kit and justify a new sprue.

GW may use this as an opportunity to replace the Cadians as the basic IG force. They are getting a bit stale, and I'm told that they have done this sort of thing in the past (replace the basic IG's). There were the Cadian plastics, as well as many many different metal armies back in the day.

But I don't think so. The cadian kits are pretty dang good, throwing in an additional weapon sprue and increasing the cost of the kit is something we've seen GW do before.

I don't think Cadia will be supplying troops shortly. Well not imperial ones, so the chances of them recutting Cadians is zero.

"- Cadia will fall in preperation for 8th edition
- 8th edition WILL NOT AoSify the 40k franchise, they will only gave it rule tweaks, GW isn't crazy to kill their most successful franchise
- From January till Summer, the release schedule wont be full 40k, it will have AoS and Bloodbowl here and there.
- Regarding Roboute being rumored to be released, he said that it is a possibility but no confirmation right now. Since Guilliman is the imperial poster boy so he would probably be released.
- So with Fall of Cadia, GW is optimistic that it will be a huge event across the globe, with the storyline progressing etc.

And I need to repeat that this is not the End Times, like with AoS/Fantasy-reboot."

Has there been any explanation of how they're retconning the existing 13th Black Crusade from 2003ish? Or are they just forgetting that the prior event happened? Apologies if it's been known for a while but I haven't been following GW too closely in 2016.

I hope that these rules tweaks are numerous. I don't want wanton simplification, but smoothing and streamlining would be welcome.

I also look forward to seeing the release schedule through the rest of winter and spring into summer. Very curious to see whats coming down the pipe.

I'm still sticking to my prediction that we see Guilliman, Johnson, and Russ/Dorn as the Loyalist primarchs who return. We'll see on that end.

I do hope that the Fall of Cadia is a worldwide event. I REALLY like the concept of it especially with the story line progression added in on top of that. This will be most excellent for my new and growing gaming club in the coming months I hope.
