Is it wrong that I think technically you can run two Celestines with this book?

This book gives us "Celestine", who can join any Imperial faction. Codex Adeptus Sororitas has "Saint Celestine". I don't think the unique rule applies, technically.

So you could put both Celestines in a squad and although the twins only apply to the new one, that's a lot of wounds shenanigans.

Although if I recall the new Celestine doesn't have Acts of Faith, so she'd screw up the resurrection of the old Celestine.

It does make it, however, so that you can run an army using nothing but Scions or equipment associated with Scions(Taurox Prime/Valkyries)...and lets you have both types of Orders running on the field at the same time.

This is what fascinates me. I find the list unsettling, because it looks like a "grand alliance" from AoS, but at least one can play CCS and Tempestus commands, different tempestus and tempestus platoons, and go nuts with orders and vendettas.

Also, one can play a russes + scions & taurox primes list with less taxes. Not strong, but fun.

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?

Celestine's AoF goes off AFTER she dies at which point she's not technically part of any squad. I know that RAI can argue that that's not how it's intended but the RAW of the AoF combined with the GW FAQ stating that 'it's very rare that something dead is affected by anything'(paraphrase) So the fact that she's in a non-AoF squad doesn't stop her but on the flipside she can't benefit from a laud hailer either.

It would be interesting to see the cheshire cat style.

Edit
The ITC has ruled that you have to pick which rules your using for the Sisters and no overlap and note it in your lists. I know that's not official GW, but at least it's some sort of guidance.

Is this more evidence of the 3 Eldar characters that may be released "Triumvirate" style?
That mysterious red Eldar in the Black Templar art has been spotted in model form in the background of some Cadian Eldar pics

With celestine added, why would you choose rules other than IA? They're nothing but straight, very slight, buffs IIRC. It was the inquisition people were complaining about which had more nerfs buffs and side-grade changes.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Because I believe that Celestine(200pts) is not a legal option at LVO.

I know everyone ne is taking Cortez in this detachment for obj secured and all his normally great rules.

However if Cortez gets sniped does your entire army loses obj secured?

No.

"If a detachment includes Inquisitor Coteaz..."

Not

"If Coteaz is on the battlefield, etc."

For the new Fall of Cadia Castellans of the Imperium detachment, does Codex: Space Marines include DA, BA, etc? Or will they be FAQed later? If they rule DA can't be part of the detachment, I'm going to be pretty salty.

As heavy as creed is in the story or fluff it's kinda sad he is not a choice in this detachment whereas yarrick who isn't even in the Same sector is.

Maybe the removal of creed is to future proof this detachment if a new guard codex is released without creed.

Creed is an upgrade for the Company Command squad though, he unlike Yarrick, cannot be taken on his own.

Still wouldn't stop you from taking two Celestines, simply by reason they have different names and are different characters. New Celestine is in Fall of Cadia. Old Celestine is C: AS. There's no mixing IA and C: AS.

Is it not?

The Repressor and Avenger Strike Fighter are for faction Adeptus Sororitas right? And in IA they keep that faction name?

It just states Codex: Space Marines.

So no Codex: Dark Angels, no Codex: Space Wolves, etc.

I know, it sucks, especially as those Chapters are actually present.

Updated in the FAQ to read:
Codex: Adepta Sororitas References in Imperial Armour Volume Two: Second Edition to ‘Codex: Sisters of Battle’ should be read as ‘
Codex: Adepta Sororitas’.

Start getting salty because they are EXPLICITLY not part of the detachment.

Random, pointless thought: Big Red's armor is stated to be a mix between Kabalite and Craftworld styles.

Does this mean his armor is 50% constructed with barbs and hooks that dig into his muscle centers and provide him a pain-induced adrenaline benefit to muscular response like a kinky, kinky version of that banned olympic swimsuit? Because according to the fluff, that's how Kabalite armor works.

If so, which half? Did he get to pick? "Hmmm, you know, this extra-comfy magic scifi mesh armor material might be lightweight and effective at stopping weaponry, but I'm just not willing to overlook the benefits of inbuilt flesh hooks yet."

Wait. All "cultures" of Eldar forming one cohesive force? That sounds suspiciously similar to the Elfs, I mean Aelfs, of the Old World during the End Times.

Honestly I'd welcome a single book for all the eldar. Makes life so much easier. Look at any codex separated from the fluff and your talking about 20-30 pages of actual data slates and formations, no reason these hardbacks couldn't compile it all and then sell the fluff separately. That said I am fairly confidant it will never happen. Far to profitable to sell you 3-5 books that become obsolete in 2-3 years if not sooner.

I can't see her wearing an elaborate gown. I know she has some fancy rune armour but I doubt it would stand out any more than any of the other seers kicking around at that gathering. Now Iyanna is mentioned, I'm wondering what Yriel is doing whilst all this is going on. If Sylandri is there I wouldn't be surprised if she's persuaded him to come along too.

At this point, I'm antsy for waaaaaaay too many models. More info for the LoC, leaked images for new Horrors, confirmation of these new Eldar models, etc.

Never in the history of GW have they teased so much for so many different armies
