And I noticed that the rules for the triumvirate are far from complete. The assembly manual does list points cost and wargears, but is missing specific explanations on special rules and Force Organisation. I suppose that means I also need to buy Fall of Cadia too.

Yes, thats how it's always been when they put the "rules" in the box, you get the stats for the unit and the list of special rules but it doesn't tell you what the wargear does or what the special rules actually do.

Ugh. That "Hunt" rumor again.

Wasn't that debunked, with someone claiming they made the whole thing up?

Yeah, I'm taking that reddit post with more than a bit of salt. Also the eldar stuff is a bit wishy-washy. Vect is involved with the triumvirate? There's a massive convocation of eldar, of course he's involved, but the poster didn't want to commit to saying if he'd be a model or not. The seer with the gyrinx is likely be Iyanna? It sounds like this person is hedging their bets.

At least I expected the manual to give me some hints about force organisation.
And I was a fool.

with regards to the triumvirate boxset, can anyone provide a good picture of the rear of it ?

The kind of clock face image --- does it look like the image could part 1 of2/3/4 that would make a complete image if all of them were joined together ?

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

My camera isn't good enough for any decent pictures, but it does look like it could be a part of a larger image. Plus the whole set itself comes inside a sort of sleeve to protect the box inside. It certainly looks like it's meant to be some sort of collector's edition box.

Yeah, I'm getting the vibe Magnus= Nagash as well. I have a very strong suspicion this will mirror the WHFB end times in many, many ways to come, especially (big/fancy) model releases.

I am getting a sinking feeling that abadon wadn't released yet because he was supposed to be wounded (celestine through the spine) in order to make him ascend into a prince of some sort and make a $150+ kit ala archaon. I hope I am wrong, as I prefer simple villains but it just seems to fit.

Yea, anything to make a huge kit. That's the trend these days. I don't mind large kits, but I prefer my characters to be smaller. We will see though.

Many echoes of AoS for me too. Abbaddon seems a dead cert for lord of war/daemon prince

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

That would be my guess as well. I don't think GW will be content to "just" sell a $30 monopose plastic single terminator model as the poster boy for chaos. He'll either be morphed into a big, unnecessary demon prince or riding atop some sort of magic flying mechamount or vehicle to justify the price.

Well there is that named Daemon Prince in the fiction, but if he got a model I don't think GW would want him to outshine Abaddon.

So yeah, Abaddon ascending seems like a good bet.

I can't tell if you're joking or if I missed something while skimming this thread. I thought Cawl ended the book heading towards the light after the Eldar pep talk...

I'm joking. Did you even glance at that paint scheme?

In post 2012 GW/40k, it's more likely that the top knot is fully unleashed and becomes a multipiece 6 inch flowing mane of chaotic warp-infused hair that gets its own detachment entry and rules in the Abaddon contingent.

Would be a nice touch if for the Eldar Triumvirate the clock is one tick closer to midnight. Then with the inevitable chaos one, one more tick
