Quick question regarding Inquisitor's mates. If I where take the Militarum Tempestus Airborne Formation and bring in an allied Inquisitor to be the HQ and attach him to the Command Squad, could the Inquisitor not start in the Valkyrie due to the allied units rule? Or are Inquisitor's immune to that due to being specialist HQ choices?

As per the FAQ you can't join Battle Brother transports during deployment.

Inquisitors are simply Independent Characters of the Faction Inquisition, they're not special in any way regarding that.
You're probably better off bringing the Inquisitor with his own mates and their transport: Codex: Inquisition offers the Inquisitorial Warband, grab whatever dudes you like and throw them in their own Valkyrie, the Inquisitor obviously will be able to join them. Same for Codex: Imperial Agents, but swap the Warband unit for either a squad of Acolytes with their Valkyrie or run the Warband Formation, then you'll be able to add other models in a similar way to how the C:I warband is build.

Spoiler:
I'm aware of the Faction issues within C:IA, but I don't think it's reasonable at all to insist on super-strict RAW within Formations / Datasheets with DTs in that codex. it's clearly a fuckup by GW and the intent is obvious. Feel free to disagree, it's HIWPI.

Oh - and in the future: rules questions like this belong in YMDC
