Hey, I've played eldar for awhile now and I am looking to try something new. I have looked around at the different armies, and so far I really like the look of the chaos armies. But, before I get anything I wanted to see what you guys think about these lists. This is my first time making a chaos list, so please forgive any stupid mistakes . But, any advice is very much wanted. Btw these lists are made of models that I could easily get ahold of in these groups, being 15 it can be hard to get models sometimes.
Thanks so much! - Josh

On DP, you can't make Khorne DP a Psyker. I suggest changing to Nurgle for better jink save, and dropping aura - all Daemons already have 5+ invul so you don't need that.

These possessed wont get anywhere on foot, I'd run them as Death Guard detachment in Rhinos.

Then you need anti-tank, like forgefiend/maulerfiend/warpsmith formation where fiends get WS and BS bonus.

Hope it's helpful

Welcome to the “good” side of 40k.

List #1
As mentioned, DP of Khorne can’t be a psyker. Remove spell familiar, and mastery level 3). Also, combat familiar isn’t very useful. If it’s available (definitely in KDK, but can’t remember for CSM codex), consider taking collar of Khorne, so they you can counter enemy psykers.

Possessed squads have to 5 or more (a squad of 4 is not legal). They need a way to get into combat without getting blown off the board (probably rhinos). While fluffy, possessed are over-costed. The Favored of Chaos helps, but only if your DP doesn’t get shot off the board.

Your berserkers squads appears to be squads of 3, which is not legal (no smaller than 5). Chain axes are AP4, so are only useful against armies where armor values of 4 are common (worthless against marines and sisters, for instance). Powerfists on a single would champion may not be a good idea as they will probably be killed before they get a chance to swing (and they have to challenge)

Definitely consider running this as World Eaters army, so you would get VotLW and fearless for free.

List #2
Cultists are great, because they are cheap. Adding a 6+ invul save via Mark of Tzeentch seems very expensive vs. what you get. Probably better to use those points to just add more cultists.

Consider that nearly 1/2 of your points are in 2 models. It’s very possible that both get blown away on turn one, especially if you’re fighting something with flyers and/or skyfire.

Definitely consider running this as Thousand Sons army, so you would get VotLW and possibly other free benefits (don’t recall as I don’t run them).

Final thoughts:
Typically, CSM are not fearless and MUST initiate and accept challenges. Loading up single wound non-fearless models with all kinds of extras and power weapons can be a recipe for disaster.

Look into the Traitor Legions book for much stronger CSM armies, unless you specifically want to play a renegade warband.

Plasma Pistols on the Zerkers are too expensive and pretty pointless, they are a combat unit no?
I would recommend running WE if you're bringing Khârn and Zerkers.
Mark of Tzeentch is wasted on anything that doesn't already have an invuln (termies, oblits are only units which would benefit imo)
All the gifts of mutation on sergeants aren't really worth it.
DP does not need aura of Dark Glory, he already has a 5+ invuln from Daemon.
Fairly Certain Ahriman doesn't make Chosen troops.

Ultra-Ultramarines are a great idea.
