I can totally understand. Had a set of friends who decided to boycott 7th edition, I purchased their armies before they went on eBay. Gives us a chance to get together for friendly games every once in a while, as they think about getting back into the hobby.

One suggestion is to *not* complete the army. Leave your buddy with things left to do.

Yeah, honestly we might throw down with some 4th/5th edition games. I might not fully flesh out the army, but just get a core force to work with - I'll try and still aim for 1800-2000 points~

On the left is a WIP Keeper of Secrets

The other two will be Daemon Princes. The GW Prince is for the 40k army, and the Daemons Codex prince will be the Reaper Conversion. They will be heavily converted.

That Daemon Prince base looks awesome! Excited to see where it goes.

Updated the army list + 3rd party model list - looks like that trade might go through successfully keeping the army budget under the $300.

I thought about going smaller - maybe 1500 points. I'd assume a smaller army wouldn't get him back into Wargaming. With a smaller army list I felt that he wouldn't be able to play pick up games with friends/wouldn't grab interest as much as a sweet 2000-2500 point list


I've been working this JUST AS PLANNED for two months now. Slowly finding out his favorite chapter, the older scheme, dislike for vehicle heavy, fluff / chaos god choice, and so on. He was excited when I mentioned I had a CSM Commission that was EC - and we said we may play a few games with it.


On the not completing the army - he doesn't have interest in painting the army - which then kills his interest in playing. In Warmachine this was notorious with our one Skorne friend (Painted casters, primed black 200 points).
