Or when Curze baited Guilliman and Lion to duel him, and Guilliman and Lion authorized their Space Marines to kill any Marine that intervened in their Primarch duel?

Or when Curze fought Vulkan? Or when Guilliman slew Alpharius? Or when Fulgrim slew Ferrus? Or when Guilliman fought Lorgar? Or when Corax dueled Lorgar? Or when Horus slew Sanguinius? Or when the Emperor fought Horus?

All of those characters sound really, really stupid.

"Hey, I have a big army of tens of thousands of Space Marines. I'm gonna go fight that one guy to death on my own. He might die, I might die, but who cares, let's just have a duel in the middle of this war."

I think maybe their troops just let them because they realized their commanders were idiots who were probably going to get them all killed.

Lion baited Curze into a duel -so he could capture him- after he was successfully sabotaging Imperium Secundus.

Curze himself baited Guilliman and Lion so he could blow them up with bombs, which he was nearly successful in killing 2 Primarchs and remarks that he did something Horus could never do.

Vulkan himself was deprived of his legion on account of the fact that they all died on Istvaan V. He didn't have tens of thousands of Space Marines. The Salamanders were virtually wiped out at Istvaan.

There's actually a moralizing discussion between Guilliman and Lion over the killing of "a few million civilians" to get at Curze.

Guilliman refuses for the reason that it's barbaric and insane and forbids Lion to use orbital bombardment.

Send down drop pods, fire heavy ordinance into the mountain, send small breacher team, obtain and neutralize Curze, bring him to Macragge and Sanguinius in chains.
