The novel is mostly about Luther on Caliban, Lion hunting Curze and Roboute/Lion having a pissing match.
The confrontation between Sang and Curze isn't in the book. I don't believe they traded blows. The novel Pharos might have more detail since at the time the Ultras were at Sotha.
The incident in Angels of Caliban is just Lion confronting Guilliman and Sanguinius. Lion and Roboute freak out over Curze getting so close to the regent Emperor and Sang explains what happened.
It's really not an exciting segment because of how it's told after the fact instead of replaying the event. I'm probably making it sound more exciting than it actually is in the book.
It may be in the book Phoros, but I'm not sure.
Thats why Sanguinius and the Lion are my favourite primarchs, thanks for the info, I'm going to have to buy both books now You've made a good sell

It is hard to empathise with people you don't know across the internet: you are unaware of their social/financial position, you don't know their opinions on things besides those they post on a forum and empathy does not come quick when you cannot see/feel the emotions of the person you are talking to.
However there are things, such as a death of a loved one, in which we can all empathise as most people can understand the pain you are going through.
I may not always see eye to eye with you but I can understand and feel sorry for your loss.

Personally, I am well aware that the people I am talking to are in fact human beings. I've spent all of my adult life and much of my later teenage years on the Internet in one way or another, and it's difficult for me to pretend I'm talking to robots.
I make an effort to not insult people or be rude. Sometimes I fail at that. I tend to keep my comments related to the subject at hand, not the person saying them. I want to discuss things, not my fellow posters.
So it's weird to me how I keep getting insulted and called a troll just for having some unusual views that I'm willing to discuss at length. And this isn't just a Dakka thing, people on other forums have had similar reactions.
A few of the people I spend time on forums with tend to like talking to me. One of them finally told me why. Apparently he likes that I don't "mince words" which apparently means just being very direct and to the point. I also don't lie on the Internet, as I don't do anything that's worth lying about.

Any kind of idea that does not conform with people's idea of 'normal' is looked apon with scorn and is even acted against with hostility. I for one love a new perspected on a matter but I also love to attempt to push that theory to it's limits: how much can it explain before it breaks?
Personally I don't mind talking to you; you're clearly not stupid, you have some nice ideas/knowledge and you can make a joke. Don't be so hard on yourself, if you feel like this kind of attack happens often then it might just be a coincidence: your inquisitive mind might just be drawing you to the more heated discussions where people are more likely to go off the handly and make personal attacks. (Don't let the internet get to you or your soul we be claimed by the trolls)
Anyway, it looks like we are getting off topic. So yeah! This Angron guy is pretty angry and thet helps. (?)

Whilst a cool headed opponant is far more likely to be able to calmly parry your blows and take advantages of any openings, angry opponants are quite dangerous too: their anger fuels their body making it very unlikely that they will grow tired or pause in their attack, their anger also allows them to ignore most blows and continue to attack you.
If Angron hits you there is no time to attempt to recover from the blow or even change your stance because his next blow will follow a split second after, and then the next, and the next... And if you hit Angron it will not falter his attack because he is souly focused on tearing you apart, not careing about anything else.

Yeah, uh, see, their mind might ignore the pain. That makes them dangerous. So you go for extreme overkill and just keep pumping bullets into the body until it stops being able to remain alive.

That's how people have tried to kill Angron/Kharn in the past, but that just made them angry. Kharn was once kicked by a Warhound titan and responded by scaling the thing and tearing apart it's pilots.

Why is it ignoring physics? Primarchs are known for their ability to survive shots that would kill anyone else, their armour is some of the best in the galaxy, they can regenerate, they can ignore pain (Angron more so) and their physical prowess is next to none. I would be suprised if Angron even paused if Sanguinius impaled him.

sorry to bust some bubbles here, but most recent depictions of sanguinius does NOT put him In the same league as angron, something drastic is going to have to happen to have sangy able to compete, I'm not a fan of this retcon but its there in the unremembered empire series.
I mean, the fella without his precog couldn't even compete with curze, and yes I know some of you will say "but he was unarmoured" armour doesn't mean squat with primarch on primarch fights, they all have weapon that cut through it with ease both on TT and in the fluff, Sangy even says himself he knows curze could kill him, so with this retcon, that puts him below curze but above a couple of the others, he would be roflestomped buy primarchs like the lion, vulkan, angron, horus acended, lorgar acended etc.

Haven't read the book and not in the best state of mind right now, but I'd have to say that just because one book says Sanguinius is not upper tier does not mean that he is not upper tier. Think of all the books that say Sangy is an absolute beast. There are loads. How many say he sucks. One. I'd be inclined to say Sanguinius is still in the top 3 without breaking a sweat.
