It's pretty damn early so I won't bother with a long post but here: https://i.redd.it/ezvvtv8iugcy.jpg

Statment from Warhammer TV in an interview.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

I think the name is telling "the gathering storm" my guess is we'll see everything positioned for the final climatic battles, with no actual resolution, if 40k presently has been "11 minutes to midnight" post gathering storm we're gonna be "1 minute to midnight"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

They have all ready hit the point i wish they would blow it up and redo a lot of it They need some new story in the game!

If they sorta just half ass it and leave it right at the end i would be more disappointed.

I'd have to agree. The only thing worse then a story line in stasis is a story line in stasis just as one side is clearly about to lose. Imagine the damage that could be caused to the hobby if they move the story line just far enough to get to a point where Chaos is on the verge of taking Terra and then everything is paused. I know I'd be saying "whats the point of buying/playing Imperium armies when GW can start the story back up any moment and completely change the game and the Imperium, thus possibly making my armies meaningless?" It would just annoy current players and scare off new players.

I entirely disagree. Warhammer 40,00 is not a story, it's a hobby. For me, the stories only exist to provide an interesting background in which I can establish my own narrative. I don't understand why people have such a hard time deciding what might happen in the universe for themselves without it having to be explicitly approved by Games Workshop. The truth is, I generally dread any attempts Games Workshop make at story telling, because quite frankly, they're rubbish at it. Games Workshop's strength lies in creating beautiful miniature models & a heavily borrowed, vague sci-fi universe in which to play with them. Everything else should be left to us.

40k is not a story. It's supposed to be setting where YOU make story. Not follow GW's force fed story without being able to make your own stories without either having to a) redo your story all the time from scratch b) not able to use what they release.

Seriously. 100% of what they have been releasing fluffwise past year or two is 100% useless for us. If we try to use it it breaks our story big time. Total havoc. Temporal distortions to the level universum would collapse from the attempt.

No wonder we haven't been buying their stuff. We want our campaign to actually keep going.

Agreed.
I don't think I've ever fought a 'historical' GW battle although I have played some of the FW campaigns with different coloured armies.
The timeline should stay as a rough skeleton for us to hang our own stories upon or be vague enough that it's easy to ignore completely.
The technical aspects of the world should be developed even further, really getting into the intricacies of how weapons, trade/supply routes, politics, space travel, military tactics etc actually work.
Books like the Index Astartes, Guardsmen's Uplifting Primer, pull out Baneblade technical drawings, the Dark Heresy RPG books and all of the art books really help to give some depth and richness to the universe without stifling the creativity of the hobbyists and are by far my favoured material from GW over the BL books.
