X-20 is Tamiya's enamel thinner, I think. I wouldn't use it.

X-20A is the acrylic version, which is primarily alcohol. This DOES work well with Vallejo Liquid Gold.

Bears warning: NEVER GET WATER IN LIQUID GOLD. Don't use a water-wet brush. Thin and clean brushes with alcohol based products only.

Oooooh. Just googled that paint, and not only do I got Custodes to paint, but I got me an airbrush.

Best place to get it in the UK?

I can't actually remember where I got mine. I bought a whole set of colours. May have been WAMP, pretty sure they do them.

They airbrush extremely well, BUT:
Cleanup is nightmarish. They have seriously fine metal particles in the pigment, and it does NOT clean out easily. You will spend several hours flushing it out if you don't want little metal sparkles in your next few paint mixes.

It's actually worth buying a cheap chinese airbrush JUST to use specifically for these paints. I will be using my old one next time I have a project that needs these spraying.

Thinking about it, the advice above actually applies to a lot of high grade metallic paints (alclad II etc, too). It's sort of like using separate water pots for metals and non-metals.

Ditto. Might've been Jackson's.

I still haven't used it yet. These couple of recent topics have been useful pointers, though.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

On the subject of airbrushes, unless you intend on doing proper-proper art on your models, cheap spray gun is all you need - it's the compressor you don't want to skimp on!
