So, I've got this stupid hare brained scheme to repaint all my ravenwing bikers but I need to dismantle them first (at least get the marine and bike seperate).
I know that plastic glue melts the two pieces together but does anyone know of anything that'll weaken the bond, even a little?
I've made some headway with a knife paired with brute force and ignorance but I'm going to start damaging things soon.
Ta.

If it is revell glue it won't be a problem, but if it is Citadel Glue I have bad news for you : )

Personally bud I feel for you.
Plastic glue is a bloody nightmare if it's set properly.
I've only ever used a knife to separate parts glued with poly.
I'd personally cut both legs at the hips to allow access to cut the lower body free from the seat.
While it means re-assembling the marine afterwards, it does come off with less damage.

As you say, if its gone right then the glue has melted both parts of the plastic, then evaporated and the plastic sets; fusing it together.
As a result if its well assembled with good glue chances are hacking at it with a blade is the only way to separate the parts. You might even just want to consider replacing the models and repainting as the amount of time disassembly will take coupled with repair and reassembly might just not give you the quality of finish you want (or just take ages)
