Do you mean like an action figure or a barbie, or that his pose can be changed by gluing the bits at different angles?

Really? What GW model moves like an action figure?

I mean that at least it appears that you can change his stance. One of many peoples complaints was the stupid spread leg pose in the pics they first posted.

He isn't. That's a conversion involving him being cut apart and reposed. Without significant effort, he's stuck in that crappy one giant step for mankind pose.

On occasion you can get accidental awesome poses out of unposeable models with almost no effort (my favourite example of this is what happens when you take the PAGK kit, cut one of the legs off at the hip, shift it around a bit, and greenstuff in the flexible-joint bit to cover up the cut, the arms look almost tailor-made for some of the resulting more active leg poses). But it doesn't usually happen with big character models.

Yeaah...that's not what the WD said. It said there was some cutting done; but that's how I got my Ghostkeel posed in its "watching over its flock" pose.

Just cutting off the retaining 'tag' on the ball & socket joint.

We'll see one way or the other though.

agreed

I guess I just got hopeful. I thought that there was no way that a model company would take their brand new model an cut/re-pose it in the first publication it was in. Not unless it was a feature that the model had. I guess it just goes to show that not everyone at GW likes the pose either. Dissapointing on many levels.

You realize it's diorama right? Pretty normal for dioramas to involve reposing to fit into story of it.

guess it may depend on FLGS orders, but when I get mine Friday 3/17 (quoted day and they are usually accurate) will throw a few sprue pics and see if he can easily be posed though my experience with gw large kits is there will likely be a static pose and modifying with require sawing and some green stuff work.

Serious: has any other GW figure been poseable? Why would Guilliman be different?

Depends what you mean by poseable. The bigger kits have been kinda/sorta poseable.

Ex:
Spoiler:

v.

Same kit, only difference is from me cutting the locking tabs off the arms/legs and attaching it.
Why would Guilliman be different?

Before we had sprue pictures, some of us thought that it might be ball & socket joints like the bigger Tau suits.

How about any being able to pose the arms, torso, heas on any infantry modle. Tau battle suits legs and arms are poseable. Soooo many of the GW kits give you a degree of flexibility. When i saw that pic initially I thought it might be possible.

Regardless... the point is moot. He is not. Why comment on a dead thread? One which had already been decided?

Special Character models are not and have never been poseable.

Tactical marines, the standard of 40k, aren't.

Riptides, Wraithknights, Wraithlords, Carnifexes, Hive Tyrants...

A lot of the "bigger" kits have it. Knights, strangely, do not.

Infantry kits in general aren't exceedingly poseable for the legs. The torso and head tend to be the parts that are poseable, but even then there's a limit.
