Those prices for the separate terrain are....proud. But that'll mean a lot of folks will likely buy up the boxed sets (at discount) to get more terrain. Realistically I think people will end up buying a bunch of MDF - you can get an entire 3'x3' table's worth of Necromunda-esque terrain for $80-100.

Is there any word on whether or not Armageddon also has those special cards?

I think they really were just promos/giveaways printed up for GAMA/Adepticon. I could be wrong, but my FLGS says his GW Rep claims nothing that won't be available online for free, or in the rulebook, will be coming out for Shadow-War. Plus, in a progression/campaign game, printed stat cards can become moot as quickly as one game in. (Unless these specialists replace the Necromunda hireable scabs/mercs?)

What I'm most curious for is the table size, if it's 4x4 it might be pricey to fully cover the table

Could anyone give a complete overview of the actual news / info on Armageddon that is hidden in these 36 pages ?

-Skirmish level game
-Likely unit advancement rules
-Based on Necromunda rules sets (mostly)
-Likely a teaser of 8th edition rules
-Old scouts and ork sculpts w/ new fancy plastic terrain
-Reintroduction of some older 2nd ed. elements (which have also been mentioned with the 8th edition rules announcements)
-Possibly replacing Kill Team
-Rulebook features several model types for 12 factions (though obviously not an entire codex)
-$130 +/- pricetag.
-Rumoured April release
-No "fluff" connection to Necromunda gangs, etc.

Well not rumored my local redshirt and the WD says it's preorder on 1st april and physical at 8th.

Also commented few post before.

Yes this we all knew a while ago but are there any details hidden in this swampy thread. Like WD leaks, stats rules, etc.

Nice! It would be expensive like hell to recreate from Shadow War terrain sets, but it's very nice indeed

Looks like that one they had in the 90s in WD, which someone had made

Noticed something interesting in the latest WD picture.

"10 Ork Boyz (with parts to build two of them as Spanner Boyz) and one Ork Nob."
Aren't Spanner Boyz only in the Forge World Dreadmob list?

Jup they aren't in the ork codex.

I may have missed this in the thread but has there been any mention of a pdf version or standalone release of the rules?

I like the idea of getting the set but that price tag does not go well with being a student

Maybe they are talking about the big shoota and rokkit launcha guys

Indeed, Spanner Boyz are those with the heavy weapons. Same with the scouts, who have "Gunners" all of the sudden, another thing not mentioned in any codex.

You can download the Ork Dreadmob List from FW website: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/fw_site/fw_pdfs/Warhammer_40000/Ork_Dread_Mob_Army_List_Update.pdf

Here is a picture of the Spanna Boyz entry:

I wouldn't put it past the WD team to be completely wrong about something though.
They outright lied that Celestine gave her Rosarius to Ghouliman which she never did.

I think it'll be what Ork heavies are called in SW

Same with scouts

It could also be that GW is going to split ork boyz into Slugga boyz and spanna boyz in 8th. Like they did with shooty and choppy sisters of silence in their new codex.

Yeah. I can use the several I have amassed. I started playing after they were discontinued.

One kit GW should do is a split box of Boyz with Rokkit Launchas and Big Shootas. Could use the same gun frame (similar to Flash Gits but smaller) that you either add rokkit or big shoota parts to.

Having 15 Big Shootas in a unit would be a good intermediate between Shoota and Loota. Shootas suck at shooting and the 3 Big Shootas you can put in the unit don't do much. Loota shoot good but you feel it's wasted on infantry.

So a Big Shoota mob would be fun.

Gretchin with Squig Herd and Bomb Squig Herd would be pretty fun as well.

My army of Orks is Gretchins using the Dread Mob list. My Ork Boyz are just Gretchin using "Roidz", Painboyz are Roidboyz.
Gretchin have a "shooty" unit but not a pure assault one so a Squig Herd would be funny and interesting

I thought all templates and such would be removed in 8E and that'd we'd use the same system as in AoS for 40k? or is this only for Armageddon?

This is only for armageddon but at the same time, the game includes some of the features they said will be in 8th such as movement stats and rend values. So likely an early preview of 8th rules is a common assumption.

I didn't notice, but has the Inquisition been mentioned as one of the factions for Armageddon? I'm kind of hoping we can use this ruleset for INQ28 / Inquisimunda...

Or it is simply the 2nd edition rules in this box.

And 8th will have some similarities to 2nd, but be a completely different animal.

That's exactly what i want to know - really want to get involved, bought a Tau Pathfinder squad specifically for it the other day, but i don't want the terrain or the two squads in the box, just the rules. I know I can probably pick them up on eBay, but GW could easily make £25 out of me if they just sell the rules separately as well.
