I don't think we have to worry about space marine characters or heavily armored characters, besides maybe Naaman and Telion. The named characters I could see would be snikrot, Colonel schaefer, Colonel straken, sgt. Harker, darkstrider, Illic Nightspear, etc. They are all commando type, light armored, scout type heroes (hell Schaeffer is supposed to lead suicide squads into oblivion like the dirty dozen).

Since this is a scouting party game, I don't see any major heavily armored characters being present. Calgar, Kharn, Abaddon, elrad, etc would not be scouting, alone, in an underhive for recon purposes.

Ooh, Snikrot for sure! Wasn't he last sighted on Armageddon? I'd love to use him in Shadow War.

I don't see why it matters if the character was ON Armageddon based on the fact that they threw every army into the game.

Well it doesn't MATTER, not really, just thought it might encourage them to put him in is all...

I have played SW:A and is very fun, but as a narrative player it just fails to deliver just as Elbows sais, in the long-run campaings.
Thats why I want to give a try to Necromunda.
I LOVE mordheim, and I have played it a lot, and the idea of something like that in 40k is pretty amazing.
My problem? I don't like the Necromunda gangs. Really. I don't like them! (The Redeemer comic was amazing, but thats it).
So, did somebody know if theres fans-rules for the factions of 40k in Necromunda? Or can I just port the SW:A rules for different teams to Necromunda? Maytbe changing some minor details?

You could look into Confrontation, the semi-finished precursor to Necromunda, for alternative aesthetics. If the rules are the issue, you're better bolting the Necromunda campaign system on to SWA rather than trying to fit 40K stuff into Necro - gangers with crude autos and t-shirts can't really deal with proper 40K level enemies.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Dive into yaktribe.org. Its THE Necromunda site and there are lots of decent fan designed gangs.

Check The Vault on Yaktribe for either the original rulebook plus compendium (all WD, CJ, etc articles collected) or the community edition, which is based on Necromunda's last official release but with some sensible changes.

Miniature-wise there are some really nice ranges for gangers by Hasslefree, Lead-Adventure, Moonraker, Copplestone Castings and others who have quite a different style but fit well into the 40k hives and ash waste setting. No need to use GW miniatures.

But if you want to use 40k factions in Necromunda, take a look into YT Vault for rules. I mostly play with the original edition, so I can only confirm for this one that there are rules for GSC, Eldar, Marines, Squats, Arbites, Orks to name a few. These arent perfectly balanced though. But the YT forum will provide some good help with transfering older rules or the SWA rules into Necromunda. I read some ideas in the SWA general news thread. Let me find a link

With the rulebook, last two terrain kits, Servo-haulers, and Sector Mechanicus industrial bases coming out this weekend, does that wrap up the Sector Mechanics and Shadow War Armageddon release waves?

Does anyone know of any other releases coming up? Battle board or game mat, etc?

Love the fact that they released one-man-army rules and some sample one-man-armies!

Should be good fun.

judgedoug - if the game continues to sell, they'll keep making stuff for it. It's kind of a self fulfilling prophesy.

Thanks to all the replies! I will look to all of those links and in Yaktribe!

And yes, maybe I should try the proper Necromunda with Gangs but going with a style I like more, like pseudo-fallout miniatures, etc...

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

It was Necromunda. the game was based off of 2d edition, so you could use a platoon, and trim down the teams to around 10 guys or so, and use the stat lines on tap with the old game 2d edition codexes. If your a newer player, it is going to be a change for you in the game, and the mindset back in the day was a different metagame.

Yes. There is a battle-board, and Mat available so far and there are a few more coming in the next couple of months that I know of. I'll be checking my source in a few days to get an update.

The releases coming up are larger versions of some of the stuff, a bundle pack, ala cities of death/ Imperial sector, and 3 or 4 60- 75.00 other sets.

I posted a link for the orders, but I don't think that the general public link to ordering is the same as a Shops, because I saw a couple of other things that didn't appear in general public.

I saw the bundle sets, that were discussed, so I see the error on my part. I'm hearing that they are coming out with additional, but I'm not at liberty to discuss it, because my contact is being exceptionally cagy on what he knows.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

At the rate they are going you will still need a book on the side for the free bonus stuff they are putting out.
I have access to a "comb-binder" so it is almost as nice as spiral-bound.
The more complete book I like more however, but I cannot justify it since I have 3.

Most of the Kill Teams. The box set only has rules for 3 while the new bokk has 14 IIRC.
But they are all available for fee on the website.

Hmm, so in a game where you have 1 sentry, if he goes down then you lose?

The 1 sentry is your whole team, as reinforcements don't count yet. And therefore, if the whole team goes down or out of action, you bottle out automatically.

Am I reading that correctly?

Still don't know if Drone special abilities work when the Drone is pinned/down. Still don't know how Drones get Skills (via injury rolls, obviously they can't be given advances as per the normal rules). Still don't know if the Ion Rifle/Rail Rifle having basically the same stats is intentional or an oversight. Still don't know if they really meant for Henchmen to not have access to Carapace and if they're just saving face to avoid looking (more) stupid.
