Subject: FW Space Marine shoulder pads?

Not sure if this is the right place to post but I have a question regarding purchasing Shoulder pads for specific chapters.
I dislike the look of transfers. I think they don't fit in with the model detail-wise.
So other than the chapters that have upgrade sprues on the GW websites, I saw FW have a lot of chapter specific upgrades for SM and CSM.
A set of shoulder pads were £11.
If I bought just a set of these shoulder pads, how much would I be paying in Australian dollars? Is it just that amount converted to Aus dollars?
Plus how much shipping would I pay? (i tried searching foe shipping costs but it just said 15% of purchase price- is this true?)
Or are there any other alternatives for getting actual sculpted shoulder pads for specific chapters?

FW gives you free express shipping on orders over 250GBP, so people who aren't out to spend that much tend to pool their order with other people to dodge the 15% shipping charge.
For most Chapters/Legions there isn't an alternative to FW sculpted shoulders; GW has done plastic sculpted shoulder pads in upgrade sprues for the Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, and Ultramarines recently, and there was a plastic Black Templar upgrade sprue and resin/metal Crimson Fists and Iron Hands shoulder pads, but those last three may not be in production anymore.
The Deathwatch sprue contains a single shoulder pad each for the nine First Founding Chapters, plus the Black Templars, Minotaurs, Raptors, Flesh Tearers, Novamarines (whose icon puts me in mind of Cyric from Forgotten Realms for some reason), Silver Skulls, Howling Griffons, and one that's just a talon that I don't recognize, so you could go scrounging if you can find enough Deathwatch players, trawl Ebay, or get a Deathwatch box and try taking casts of the part. (I think it'd only be illegal if you were to try to sell your resin casts, but if you're worried it's easy enough to set up a greenstuff mould and cast just the icon onto another shoulder pad (I've done it with fleur-de-lys when making alternate Battle Sisters models, and GK icons when testing an alternate Dreadknight build). Hard to argue you're devaluing GW's stuff when everything on the model down to the surface of the shoulder pad you're casting the icon onto is original.)

Well if you just casting a chapter symbol from one gw pad onto another gw pad.
That's just like me taking some etched brass and putting it on as your not making more pads, just adding a symbol on to a pad that already exists...
Thr sum total of parts in existence remains the same.
Its only more dubious when you take one pad and use it it to make 20 more of the same.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

I don't think it's that dubious then, if the rest of the model remains original, but it's still worth being cautious.

Aye long as your strictly for personal use. Taking say a carthadon sysmbol and placing it on a mk3shoulder pad from thr bop kit...
There both purchased gw products. There "paid" there contrabution to gw.

Oh so is shipping for products under 250GBP just 15%?
So if I ordered one set of pads, it would be 11GBP + 15%?
Not too bad if you ask me...
I'm wondering how the price converts to AUD but I guess it would be like a dollar give or take on the current exchange rate?
Oh and regarding DW sprues... i think it's pretty weird GW aren't selling shoulder pads for more chapters

20.39 AUD.
Edit: That includes the 15% shipping. As it stands at the moment, 1 Brittish Pound equals 1.61 Australian Dollars.

Delivery for one set of shoulder pads to a random address - £1.65 (13 days) or £19.65 for Express (9 days). Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and maybe even impressed.
